Seems to have worked well for me.. for both shedding some un-needed bad fat and gaining good fat as well.. which actually promotes weight loss.

1- lots of avacodo's (high in healthy fats, antioxidants)
2. multi-grain unsprouted breads
3. lots of berries, especially blue-berries
4. occasional fish, sometimes lean steak, but cutting down on meat in general.. using it more as a secondary option
5. Lots of soymilk

What diets have worked well for you?

Eat as many calories as I can. Well, almost. I do eat alot of high fiber breads and oatmeal for breakfast and for snack we have the Kashi cookies that have fiber and cane sugar. A lot of chicken as far as meat goes. I don't like a lot of fruit so I eat a lot of bananas, apples, and grapes when I can afford them. I'm about 3,000 calories a day right now.

I am always a high protein guy, but I also have a lot of muscle mass to maintain.

I don't eat fried foods, don't drink any sugared drinks (soda, energy drinks with sugar, sweet tea, etc.), don't drink alcohol at all, and rarely eat any desserts like cookies or cakes or anything. I will admit a weakness for Oreos and apple pie from time to time, however.

I don't understand the need to be "big" .. but that's just me. Especially when it's more work to sustain without getting fat.

Hey Arttie, you ever try deep fried oreos? My wife makes them sometimes. She calls it "fair food" along with deep fried snickers bars, deep fried twinkies and, our next item, deep fried cookie dough!
