I'm wondering if the things I can do right now in terms of lifting would be considered good and progressive in the context of my weight..

For example, I usually bench around 125, and 40 on each dumbbell curl (85 if it's a barbell). I weigh around 155-160 and the last time I was checked up I had somewhere around 7% body fat.

Is this a decent place to be, and also, where can one go from here IF they stay around the same weight? Cause I don't see myself adding tons of mass anytime soon... I can't really afford that much food.... tongue

It really depends on your goals and what you're lifting for. Weightlifting for general health is great and it looks like that's what you're doing from what you've told us. What you see people doing in bodybuilding shows is an entirely different thing. And powerlifting is another sport altogether. For example, I think the bench press record in the 165 weight class is around 705! This is so far above the norm it wouldn't even figure into the equation. What I'm getting at is if you are lifting to be healthy and fit you should be able to go through a normal day and not feel strained by normal activities and if something unusual happens you should be able to manage with some effort if that makes sense. If you are training for powerlifting you should be getting better at each meet, etc.

I would like to become bigger, stronger, and sculpt more, but I'll never be into powerlifting. But since, as I said, I'm not really able to pile on mass or anything at the moment..I'm still interested in what I could grow to within my weight range (that isn't powerlifting), and where it should go from here if progressed in a healthy manner.

Sounds like you want definition more then mass so first i'll suggest watching the ol' diet. The less fat you consume or things that turn quickly to it the better. Your young so it won't affect you as much but you'll feel better. I really would shoot for getting to body weight in BP, more as it's good to have a goal then just kind of blindly wandering around. Your curl is pretty decent. Do you have a workout plan so your bigger muscle groups are being worked consistently? Some military press front and back, some upright rows, these will help sculpt. And I will always push cleans a good overall upper body lift, don't have to do a lot of weight to work hard with cleans.

Best point of the thread. I lifted aimlessly most of the last 10 years. I wish I would have had some goals. Last Summer I set those goals and now at 34 I'm in the best shape I've been in since my early 20's.

SO, it doesn't have to be fancy, but set some goals. As it is, your lifting is not bad. Mess around with rep schemes and rest periods to up the intesity. One need not handle huge weights to get sculpted, but just be creative and intense with what weights you are using.
