| | Hi. I am a competetive powerlifter living in Springfield OH. I saw this board and thought how cool it was to have a Christian metal board with a weight training section. Maybe some of you guys could help me out. I am looking for the hardest, heaviest sounds I can find. I have been away from Christian metal for a while but I do have a Deliverance cd that I really like. I tend to like stuff with a more hammering, chunky sound in a lower octave rather than just speed metal. I would appreciate any help. |

| Hey Dude! As far as metal...you've come to the right place. These guys will let you know what's what. As far as lifting...there's some guys here who are pretty darn good/strong (not me, but I still like to lift) What weight class and total? I'm originally from Minerva, OH...so I'm always excited to see people from my home state around here. |

| WElcome! I am also a competitive powerlifter and bodybuilder (drup free) with personal bests of 455 bench, 550 squat (several years ago...knees are pretty much gone as far as squatting goes), and 632.25 in the deadlift.
Anyway, to your question...as far as Christian metal for lifting, I always have music from the following in my mp3 player for the gym...
Ultimatum (members post here...great power thrash band in the vein of Metal Church or Iced Earth, musically!)
Six Feet Deep (hardcore/thrash cross-over band that a lot of people compare to Cowboys/Vulgar-era Pantera. Killer crunch and aggressive vocals...)
Believer (progressive thrash...I have 3 different tracks from their first album on my mp3 player right now...)
Living Sacrifice (first album was pure Slayer-esque thrash...last couple of albums are aggressive metalcore)
Deliverance (you already know Jimmy & Co...Jimmy posts here as jpbII, by the way...)
Tourniquet (progressive thrash, especially early on. Vocalist Luke Easter posts here from time to time.)
Fasedown (another Pantera-esque band...especially on their first album.)
I have also lifted to stuff from Vengeance Rising, Sacrament, Klank (more industrial metal), Brainchild (again, heavy industrial metal), 7th Angel, and Detritus.

| You must check out Place of Skulls. Awsome Sabbathy type band with the guitar player from Pentagram who is now saved. Awesome totals. I never got over 950. |

| | Now my lifting is just for me. My knee is so shot I can't even walk straight. I do a lot of upper body circuit training to keep my girly figure. My weight when I was pretty serious was 175. I'm actually heavier then I've ever been and my bench and dead are getting close to my old max's. Which isn't high compared to some of the viking warriors on here but I'm happy with it. |
