| I'm a #'s guy and I love life's little coincidences so I'm absolutely loving that 1-9-8 thing!!
Your #'s are impressive for 198! Do you struggle to get down to 198 or to get up to 198 or is it more or less your body's natural weight when you lift hard and eat normally? _________________ Hey kid!

| | I am usually around 205 or so. I have a background in wrestling so it is natural an easy for me to cut weight for a meet. |

| Well guys, I had a major set back the other day. I was trying to stretch out the legs in my canves suit by soaking it in water and iflating basketballs in them. I put in too much air pressure and blew out the left leg!!!! I was really upset for a while. Then I found an alterations place locally that does leather work and took it to them. They are working on it now and said it shouldn't be a problem to fix the suit, reinforce it and alter the legs. Hopefully it will work out. I know this may sound odd or petty but a few prayers couldn't hurt. I am planning on using this meet to take pledges from my congregation at church based on my total at the meet and the money would be used to help pay off our church's debt so I need all the help I can get. |

| Sorry to hear about the suit!! Maybe it'll be better than new when you get it back!
Prayers have been lifted...
Have you started taking pledges? What a cool idea.... _________________ Hey kid!

| 1-21-8 Squats Since my suit is out being worked on there was a change of plans sort of. I stayed with the planned band tension but didn't go as heavy. 1. Box Squat w/ Viking briefs-blue and small bands-225x6x2 2. Ghetto Back Attack-45x10,65x10,95x8** 3. Sit Ups-10 lb plate behind my head-3x10 ** If anyone is interested in my "ghetto back attack" I will try to take some pics. I can tell you that the 3 sets i did on these were harder than my 6 sets of squats and really hammered my lower back and hams. Also, an update...I called to ask how the suit was coming and they said they were working on it now. Should have it tomorrow or the following day. They said everything is going well. No unforseen problems. |

| 1-23-8 ME Bench 1. Bench Press-worked to 225x5 raw then added shirt and went to 365x1 2. Foam Press(same height as 2 board) in shirt-315x3,365x3,405x1 3. Bench Press-365x1 again. 4. Tricep Death-185x5 to each(chest,2 board,3 board,4 board,5 Board) with no rest between. 5. T-Bar rows-90x4x10 The idea on this day is to work up to opener in a shirt. Do some lower board presses in your shirt(Max Effort but DO NOT MISS). For example, the way the 405 felt on the foam, I think I could have done 3 but not sure so I stopped at one. Best to stop on a possitive note. Then after you are fatigued from the "ME" work you hit your opener again. If you can hit it once you're tired you will smoke it on meet day. I plan on openeing at 400 in the meet but I haven't had a spotter in 2 weeks so I am taking the weight out myself. Then trash your tris and hit some back. That's the plan!!!!!!!!! |

| !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Suit Update !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I go pick up the suit today and the thing looks bullet proof where they patched it. They opened up my legs a bit too much but the hips are still really tight and now I can get a pair of briefs on under it. I tried it on today but didn't put any weight on it so we will have to wait until Monday to see if it works. |

| 1-27-8 DE Bench Day I didn't feel like doing much today so I took a page from the "Book of Wendler" and did 9 singles with 185 + 2 sets of 1/2" chain and called it a day. 1-28-8 Squats Today was the day to try the repaired suit. So... 1. Box Squats-I put on the Viking briefs @ 225x2,315x2. I then put on the canvas. Went on easy after I strapped in to the rack and hung in it. Felt pretty good. Went to 405x1,455x1,505x1,555x1. The last weight was a grinder. Suit held up good. I think I need to look into some Boss briefs but overall I am happy with this. 2. Box Squats-briefs only-315x5x2 3. Sit Ups with a 25 behind my head-8,7,4 |

Chest press machine-warmed up at 90x12 then 125x6,4,2 DC style. 3. Some shoulder horn stuff Another week of training partner no shows!!! I'm getting really tired of this crap!!!! |

| 2-4-8 Test Day for Squats All I did today was squat. All my squat training up to the meet is going to be based on today. 1. Box Squats-135x10, put on single ply Titan briefs. 135x3,225x2,315x1. Put on ACE Suit-405x1,455x1,505x1 all were really easy. 555x1. Took box away and hit 2 more singles at 555. All in all a good day. I hit the same weight I did with my canvas an 2 ply briefs and it was so much easier...and it didn't take 40 minutes to get out of the suit. I'm thinking this is my suit for this meet. |
