3-10-8 Squats
The plan today was to hit my opener again. Basically, we are trying to make it second nature. So I go up to 555 in gear for a single and it feels easy. So I decide to do one more single at 595. The weight was easy. The most difficult thing was the pressure from the suit. So next week we hit an easy 555 for a single and we're ready to go!!!
I followed this with manta ray squats-315x3x6. Then some abs and done.

1.b. Shoulder Horn-5sx3x20
2. Dumbbell Floor Press-40sx5x15 I did these in around 7 minutes

3-17-8 Squats
Last real squat day before the meet. Worked up to my opener of 550 in full gear for 2 singles. After that I did some light supplemental work and that's it. Joints are aching a bit but I'm jacked for this meet!!

The meet is on March 29. I'll be posting results on Sunday. Bopefully all goes well. I feel really confident in the openers I have chosen and I will have one of my best friends and a couple of the best handlers in the powerlifting world with me all day. My only concern is it feels like my right shoulder is coming apart. I will be getting a cortizone shot on Monday and doing lots of rest. Tomorrow I will be doing a few light sets of bench and some deadlifts and on Sunday a few light box squats and then lots of rest.

Meet Report
My previous bests were a 500 squat, 400 bench and a 435 dl. My best total was 1320.
I opened with 551 and got it. Then went to 584 and missed but got it on a 3rd.
Bench press I opened with 202.2 and missed. I used my old trust shirt but it gave up the ghost so I switched shirts and got 402.2 on my 2nd. I missed 424 on my third.
Deadlifts I opened with 402.2 and got it. So I went to whatever it was in kilos to get me over a 1400 total. Got it. Then I finished with 424.29 for a 1421.29 total.
The meet was scheduled to start at noon. I'm not sure when we got started but I pulled my last deadlift about 9:45 so it was a LONG day.

Nice total!!! You didn't say, but I guess you're happy. This was perfect timing! I squat today and you've helped pump me up.

When's the next meet?

I am pretty happy overall. Given the circumstances of how long the meet was and all I am pretty excited about betting a 100 lb PR on my total. My goals were a 600 squat,425 bench and 450 deadlift but I wasn't far off. Missing my second squat affected my plans for the 600 as well as missing my bench opener. Deciding to go for 435 on my last deadlift instead of 450 was basically to get the 100 lb PR total. If I would have missed 450 I would have still had a PR total but 100 lbs is better.LOL.

4-13-8 DE Bench
1. Bench Press-135+50 lbs of chain-6x3
2. Dumbbell Shoulder Press-one arm at a time-40x5x12

I was going to go back to a more traditional Westside routine for a while but my elbows hurt pretty bad after the speed benches so I think I'm going to have to explore other options for my bench training.

4-18-8 squats
1. squats in suit- I tried on my Frantz canvas again today to decide to keep it or not. Got 500 with no problem but it just doesn't have the pop of my Ace. It took WAY too long to get it off while the Ace is literally off in seconds. I'm done with canvas suits.
2. 45 degree back raise-3x10 with a doubled mini band
3. Some ab work.
