PostSubject: Jay Cutler wins second Mr. Olympia...Ronnie Coleman 4th   Mon Oct 08, 2007 10:17 am

SEPTEMBER 29: The 2007 Mr. Olympia came down to the final round, as Victor Martinez pushed Jay Cutler to the limit before coming up a point short.

Cutler, who admitted he was a little off on Friday night, charged back at the Saturday finals, becoming a multi-Olympia winner on the same night when perhaps the sports greatest champion, Ronnie Coleman, made his final bow on the O stage, finishing fourth and getting two standing ovations from the sold out Orleans Arena crowd.

In third place was Dexter Jackson, the 2005 and 2006 Arnold Classic champ who earlier this year lost that title to Martinez. It was a validation for The Blade that he is still a force to be reckoned with, as he beat out Coleman, a hard-charging Dennis Wolf in fifth, and Marvelous Melvin Anthony in sixth.

Perhaps no one made a bigger stride in this contest than Wolf. The German was a huge crowd favorite, and showed every ounce of his future Mr. Olympia potential. The crowd booed at his placing (viewing it as too low), and he also won the Bodybuilding.com Fan's Choice award with 32% of the votes cast (Martinez was second at 27%).

2007 MR. OLYMPIA
Top 10

1) Jay Cutler
2) Victor Martinez
3) Dexter Jackson 4) Ronnie Coleman
5) Dennis Wolf
6) Melvin Anthony
7) Silvio Samuel
8 ) Gustavo Badell
9) Johnnie Jackson
10) David Henry

Most people speculate this was Coleman's last trip to the posing dais, as he was clearly beaten by Cutler, Martinez, and Jackson, and from everything I have read, heard, and seen, Coleman was given a gift with 4th, as Wolf, and maybe even Anthony should have been higher.

Explain to me how this works. Ronnie seems as cut as always, maybe not quite as big, so I don't understand how he has fallen. Is it the posing?

Thanks Arttie!! That always sneaks up on me.

I hope Cutler doesn't go off on a run like the others, I would like to see new blood each year. BUT, if he's the best, he's the best....

Ronnie was carrying a lot of water, in my opinion, and looked bloated. Additionally, he has some damage to his left lat which is very noticeable if you know what you are looking for. Like I said, I think this was a gift to an exiting legend. He could have easily been as low as 6 or maybe even 7 based on what I saw.

I think Cutler could run this for a few years, mostly because Martinez has a REAL problem peaking for shows. This was the best he has looked in quite some time and he still couldn't beat Jay who was, admittedly, off.

No...I wish! I hope to be there within the next couple of years, but with Jaydon's birth, cash is a bit of a scarce item at times now!

Wouldn't trade it, however...
