I'm SOOOOO anxious to get rolling again! I always take the last two weeks of the year off to allow my body some uninterrupted recovery time and it KILLS ME!!!!

How do the toughman competitions work? Is it a free for all or are there classes?

Most toughman contests are kind of barroom brawl type of fighting events. Similar to cage fighting but with less structure and very little in the way of martial arts... Think Tank Abbott....

That's what I thought. I've lost touch with so much of this stuff. Just keep up on MMA and even that i'm behind on.

Ok - I have never even visited this part of the forum - so - "Hi guys!!"

Smile

I got myself a gym membership on 12/22 - and I've now been 7 times (in 8 days - I'll be going again tonight).

It feels good - and I really needed something, you know? I'm trying to get my next military promotion, so I originally just got started to improve for that course, which will be in the next few months. But it feels good. I've been treadmilling for about 2 1/4 miles (1/2 hour on intervals) - this after working out with weights a bit. There are about 7 machines I hit, and the soreness and pain are now gone (that was a rough few days there).

I'm feeling good - and after my latest drama - needed that. Smile

Ok. Thanks. Smile

They also generate a lot of violence among the spectators, it should be outlawed. This is not a sport, it is mindless violence and barbarism, a microcosim of the Colosseum games.

No, this one is not that like that at all.. 3 - 2 minute rounds w/ head gear. I don't know if I am going to do it.. I have had allot of concussions from previous fights & football games. I probably shouldn't risk it, but I feel some of that stuff in the basement, like Rocky says.. lol

Besides, I need to just get back into shape first anyways..

All I know is it feels GREAT to end my self-imposed lay off! That two weeks is the only thing I hate about the last two weeks of the year...
