Do those in the know think any of them aren't juiced? I was looking at pics of Cena and the guy is tore up and just gargantuan. He was not that huge coming out of the military. Any ideas?

Oh sure, there are a lot of them that aren't on the juice. Not saying they have NEVER used them to help recover from injuries or what have you, what with their crazy schedule and all, but certainly not all of them use them.

Isn't that a pretty tough lifestyle to actually maintain that kind of size, what with being on the road a lot and the stress of having your body beat on a lot? I'm especially wondering about injury recovery.

Very tough, yes. I know a couple of indy wrestlers, and they readily admit its a very tough lifestyle with a LOT of inuries.

I figure that in any situation everyone can't all be doing something at the same time or even over a period of time.

To answer.... no. No I don't think so. Well Earl Hebner probably isn't, Scott Tenay might not be, but that's about the only ones i'd bet on. Heck, fat ole J.R. is probably doping the BBQ sauce on his foods with gear. Wink

Rather ironic that I stumbled onto this post, as I am new to the boards here and that I also happen to be a pro wrestler. For the most part, most guys involved in wrestling, while not necessarily on the juice, they use some type of enhancement. Whether it be some type of growth hormone or some over the counter supplement, it is almost a requirement to take something. Those that don't rarely have achieved much success. In today's era it is all about the bottom dollar, and nothing makes more dollars than larger than life characters. It isn't like it was 20 some years ago when the emphasis was put on personalitiy and charisma, where guys were able to get by on talent alone. Today they have to look the part, regardless of talent. I myself have even contemplated taking something, but never made the commitment. Not saying that I would or wouldn't, would just like to hope that there is another way. I have been told on several occaisions that all I needed to do was "get in shape". At 6'3, 270 pounds, I am still considered small in the world of pro wrestling. So, on that note, let me pose this question to the boards: could it be considered wrong, or a sin, to take some type of enhancement. Yes, there are long term negative effects, but the same could be said about fast food and Pepsi. In our modern American society, just about everyone puts something into their body that does them harm. Where do we draw the line? Just curious as to everyone's thoughts.

???

That's a bit beefy, I would say; many of the top guys run 220 - 250.

I think the fact that it is against the law would make it wrong to do; however, you could go to a country where it is legal, do the dose & head back across the border, I suppose. Problem is, to achieve/maintain the size that some of those guys have, I would figure they are juicing every day, not like it the old days, where they took something like 1 injection a week.

I like being big, but not at the costs to my health that is involved with it; Funny, you hear every other week that some wrestler has "Elevated Liver Enzyme Count" ... Gee, I wonder why..

I would say that a large majority of them are using, just the same as in pretty much all pro & even amateur sports nowadays.

Yeah, Batista, Cena, Triple H are clean.... affraid

I'm not against legal supplements at all. I do consider long term health though. I also understand what you mean by fast food as I try to really limit how often I eat it and what I eat when I'm there. I find it ironic to hear some overweight person expound on the evils of smoking. Sometimes there's nothing better then a baconater though.

Sweet. Can I get some of that clean stuff they are using.

Thanks, Arttie. Glad to have found the boards. Wrestling is my passion, sometimes even more than it should be, but I am learning to balance everything out. Hopefully interacting w/ everyone here can help out some.

I agree that the legality is the problem with me. I maintain that overeating is a sin/problem as much as harmful drugs. Everything in moderation. SO, again legality is the problem. Honestly I would probably try steroids or HGH or whatever if it wasn't illegal (and also try to be reasonable and moderate - but the ability to keep it at sane levels is another question/problem) Everything in moderation as long as it's legal.

Easier said than done if you're on the "bubble" of your sport/profession. I can't imagine the pressure of being a good AAA baseball player but I just need 15 more feet on my flyballs or another .2 of a second off my 40 to get that fat Big League contract.....

I think the Question of Legal and Illegal is a great one. My only thought is this, drugs that are illegal have been found to help some medical illnesses. Weed for instance. So the qustion in my mind is this. When has it ever been the governments right to decide what each of us should put into our bodies? If Steroids or illegal becouse there are unhealthy for us, How come Mcdonalds is still around?....I know that smoking is bad for me....How come thats not illegal?

Are we all just suppose to follow the leader and let other ppl make our minds up for us? If you know the risk going in then you can be the only one to blame for what happens to you.

I agree to a point BBF. Their is a cost to society when people abuse themselves and I appreciate that their are laws against drug abuse. Can you imagine no alcohol blood level laws? I'd be scared to be on the streets. And to compare Mcdonalds to drugs is a little misleading. People have to eat to live and if you eat Mcdonald's in moderation or even their healthier fare, you will be ok. Also, some drugs cause people to behave towards others in some very unfriendly manners, or do things they never would do sober. (roofies anyone?) That I think, strikes at the heart of it. If you eat yourself into the grave, I feel kind of bad for you, but it didn't personally affect my health. If you are on roids and destroy my property or me you are now entered into my space.
Weed has been shown to have very little benefit and the cost is pretty high. Most people I know that want it legal for so called health benefits just want to get high. Trust me, I'm from Oregon which has the most liberal medical pot laws in the country. If I didn't think it was a sin I would probably still be doing it.

I was a pro wrestler for 4 years, and I managed to keep away from the gas. I knew several guys that could have gotten me anything I wanted, especially painkillers, but I never jumped on it, either.
Thankfully, I wasn't on the road full time. I did once a week shots, 130 miles away from home. There were 3 times where I took a road trip to far away spots, so burn-out from the road didn't get to me like it did with some boys who did this 24/7.

The Outback (TM) rocks.

The last time my family and I were there 3 weeks ago, an Australian foreign exchange student staying with us came. Twisted Evil

She got a kick out of the place. Twisted Evil
