Okay, boys and girls. This is it.

Issue #1 is set to drop in a week or so. We missed our July 1st deadline so
that we could get a proof copy to make sure everything is perfect. It's
done, though, and off to the printer. It will be about 100 pages and
retails for a measley $5.99. Buy in bulk so you don't have to worry
what to give people for Christmas, birthdays, etc... It would make an
ideal Halloween gift!

Our editor Ken will be rubbing elbows with bigshots in the writing
community this month at the NECON and spreading the word.
We have a new website ready to go and the artwork is done.
We are on Myspace, Twitter and Facebook (follow and join us at both)

Not really my thing but it's quality if you are involved and I hope it does well for those involved.

Understandable, and I want to make it clear that this is a mainstream horror publication, and contains things that you would normally find as a part of the genre. Some of it is dark and disturbing. If you enjoy horror writers such as Stephen King, Joe R Lansdale, Clive Barker, Richard Matheson etc... then you should be comfortable with the content.

I think we have chosen some really strong stories. Many publications lower their standards to get an issue out or pad the page count, but we did not. According to duotrope's stats, we only accepted 1.43% of submissions.

That was one of our favorites, and the first one we accepted. I had a
friend do some spec artwork that was turning out great, but we were
pressed for time and it was decided that having major artwork for only
one story would be odd. I should post that for giggles.

Those are great!

That's almost exactly the image I had in my mind when I read it!

A stuffed elephant with more stitches than Frankenstein maniacally chasing after a teddy bear.

My favorite touch to that story was that the other animals basically deferred to the elephant. Nothing like a stuffed animal caste system. I know my stuffed animals had one.
