people in Germany with a fortune of more than 500,000 euros. If
they all paid the tax for two years, Germany could raise 100bn euros to
fund ecological programmes, education and social projects, said the
retired doctor and heir to a brewery. Signatory Peter Vollmer
told AFP news agency he was supporting the proposal because he had
inherited "a lot of money I do not need". He said the tax would be "a viable and socially acceptable way out of the flagrant budget crisis". The group held a demonstration in Berlin on Wednesday to draw attention to their plans, throwing fake banknotes into the air. Mr Vollmer said it was "really strange that so few people came".

That's funny people are delusional like that, thinking people want to give the government money.

When these rich people demand taxes be higher on them, what I fail to understand, is why they don't demand their tax code be changed so that they're taxed whatever it is now and give them the opportunity to pay even more, what they think is fair, not what the government demands.

You know, I call them Limousine Liberals because they constantly pay lip service about helping the poor and oppressed, the environment, etc. but yet they drive expensive gas-guzzling cars, live in expensive houses and exploit their illegal housekeepers by underpaying them (I see this a lot where I work at) and live a priviledge lifestyle. IF liberals actually pay taxes. The Obama administration is full of 'limo libs' who conveniently 'forgot' or didnt 'know' they had to pay tax. Its amusing to watch them lecture us about how patriotic is to pay but think they are exempt. Its a classic case of do what I say, not what I do. I think if those who actually had to pay did, the government wouldnt be in such a deep hole.

Ask New York how taxing the rich is working. They raised taxes on wealthy people and their tax revenue went south. Its amusing watching the Feds limit the pay of Wall Street execs and make NY State tax crisis that much worse!
