Perelandra had a lot to digest... At first I think I liked OOTSP better, but each book has it's strengths.... Definately worth a 2nd or 3rd or 4th read! |

| Caesar Against The Celts by Ramon J. Jimenez. This is a superb book about Caesar's nine year struggle against the Celts in, what is now, Britian, France, and western Germany. The book discusses the military campaigns within the social, political, and cultural frameworks of both the Roman and Celtic civilizations. That said, however, it is primarily an operational discussion. There is much detail given about both Celtic and Roman militaries, down to the individual soldiers and their weapons and armor. Good stuff. _________________ "The 'farce' is strong with Sith Lord Obama-Wan." words of Scourge.

| I finished Yancy and was just so overwhelmed by the grace and mercy that God extends to us. Yet how often we neglect to extend it to each other. I realized that I've read 11-13 books since January. that hasn't happened in along time.... |

| I just finished Nightshow by Richard Laymon, and I'm currently browsing back through Stephen King's "Nightshift" collection. As I was typing that, I was struck by the similarity in the titles. It's kind of like Wayne's observation "Hello... Dick Sargent... Dick York... Sergent York.... Isn't that weird?" _________________ “If you make less than $250,000 your taxes will not go up. | Reading a collection of Robert E. Howard stories. I never read any Conan (except maybe some comic books when I was little), but always liked the movie, so I wanted to see what the original was like. So far so good. |

| It's great. The movie was quite similar to the book. They even used whole chunks of King's dialogue. In fact, it was watching the movie that inspired me to re-read the book. _________________ “If you make less than $250,000 your taxes will not go up. I just Started Blood Games by Laymon. It'll be the 4th book I've read by him. I have to say, he's pretty good at creating a creepy vibe. _________________ What is your name? What is your quest? What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

And both of those films, like The Green Mile are filmed almost exactly as King wrote them. He's a great storyteller, but film adaptations have not always turned out so hot, usually because the filmakers thought they could tell it better than King._________________ “If you make less than $250,000 your taxes will not go up. I wasn't that thrilled with Nightshow, to be honest. It is my first book by him. LMK if Blood Games is good and I'll try to track it down._________________ “If you make less than $250,000 your taxes will not go up.
