| Jane Austen - Persuasion When I've finished, I'll start Sense and Sensibility quickly, for there's a mini-serie on telly here every monday, and I've never read the book _________________ | Gothdad wrote: | Great dads think alike. |

| The Barbarian West: The Early Middle Ages A.D. 400-1000 by J.M. Wallace-Hadrill. An extremely interesting discussion of the political and social histories of the people groups under consideration. The three people groups are the Visigoths--composed of the Germanic Franks, Alamans, Saxons, Frisians, Angles, Jutes, Thuringians; the Ostrogoths--composed of the Germanic Goths, Vandals, Gepids, Burgundians, Lombards; the Romanized/Latinized inhabitants of Transalpine Gaul, Gaul itself, the western Rhine River area, the upper western Danube River area, Hispania, and lastly North Africa. The interrelationship and conflicts of the areas, and the people living in them, are also considered within the rubric of the effects of religion on the people. The religion of the Arian Germans and the Catholic Romans is discussed in an interesting manner that actually does not put me to sleep (it usually does). Good stuff. _________________ "The 'farce' is strong with Sith Lord Obama-Wan." words of Scourge.

| Multiple Blessings - By Jon & Kate Gosselin and Beth Carson. Really good. That has to be a challenge to raise 8 children. You would need God's grace for sure and they received it. I know I would. |
