Duma Key was great. I'm not much of a reviewer, but it is definitely a return to King's classic themes and style. Not too many "jump scenes", but a lot of lump in the throat moments. I won't spoil it for anyone, but aif you are a fan you should jump on this one.

Just started Walk This Way - The Autobiography of Aerosmith

This weeks reading list.

1). The Miko by Eric Van Lustbader

2). Bible

3). CMR

4). The Gnostic Way

5). Lakota Way

As to King he is way over rated in my book. Last thing I read by him was The Stand. I prefer Clive Barker

The Roman Army Of The Punic Wars 264--146 B.C. by Nic Fields.

This is an overview of all 3 Punic Wars, but the emphasis is placed on the 2nd Punic War. As Rome’s power and influence extended across the Mediterranean, Rome was destined for a collision with the Carthaginian Empire, a clash ultimately resulting in the decisive Second Punic War. At first the Roman Army was no match for the superior tactics and leadership of Hannibal and his troops, both native Carthaginian and his Celtic mercenaries. However, talented Roman generals like Scipio Africanus transformed the legions into a formidable fighting force. Covering Rome’s catastrophic defeats at the battles of Lake Trasimene and the Battle Of Cannae, to her final victory, in Africa, at Zama, this book examines the development of Roman tactics and organization through Rome’s transition from a city--based state to a Mediterranean--based powerhouse.

Genda's Blade: 343rd Kokutai--Japan's Squadron Of Aces by Henry Sakaida and Takaki Koji.

Formed in December 1944 and commanded by Captain Minoru Genda, the mastermind behind the raid on Pearl Harbor, the 343rd Kokutai (fighter wing) was an elite unit of hand--picked pilots chosen to fly Japan’s newest and most advanced fighter, the Shiden-Kai (Codenamed George by the Americans, this is also my very favorite Japanese fighter of WW II. This puppy was *hell on wheels* and hot), in the bitter defensive air battles over the Japanese homeland during the first half of 1945 when the Americans started to bomb it all the time with the A.A.F. B-29s and U.S. Naval carrier groups. The authors have spent years tracing and interviewing former pilots of both the 343rd Kokutai and the American carrier and bomber groups which they encountered, to piece together this dramatic story and tell it largely from the personal perspective of the aircrew on both sides. The narrative is spiced with 300 remarkable photographs, most of which are published for the first time in an English language book. Accompanied by color artwork and written by acknowledged experts on Japanese military aviation, this book will be an essential requirement for any student of the Pacific air war and.......I like it a lot. Twisted Evil

It was fascinating, particularly the beginning (those sorts of stories
are always the most interesting to me). Never have read a "rock 'n'
roll biography" before, and I suspect that one will be tough to top.

Right now I'm reading a book called Canyon Country Southwestern Rock Art by FA Barnes.

an update:

'2012' is brilliantly written, presented, and full of far-reaching accuracy until about the half way mark, or about 3/4 through maybe. Then it totally falls apart and turns into cringe-worthy mush. Shame..

'Moon Knight' continues to be one of the best Marvel is putting out...
