Was just finishing that last one off when I posted. Got this one right at the start.

Wellington Bomber by Edward Bishop.

This is a concise, but good study on both the developmental and operational employment of this fabled British medium bomber, of first line service in the early and mid-years of World War II.

Lancaster Bomber by D.B. Tubbs.

Another short and concise developmental and operational history of this fabled British heavy bomber in World War II. (It is part of a Ballantine series actually)

(I'm on vacation so I can read, and read, and read to my heart's content) Twisted Evil

Let me know how it is, Scott. I skipped buying it because the publisher didn't print it in hardback.

Just finished A Clash Of Kings by George Martin and just bought A Storm Of Swords to continue the journey. (A Tale Of Fire and Ice)

In between while waiting I've been revisiting old friends. Read The Time Machine and Frankenstein as well. For anyone who has not read Frankenstein I HIGHLY recommend it. It's nothing like what you see in the movies. It's a short read, as well, so it's a winner all around!

In highly commercial stuff like this, I believe most publishers will bypass hardcover in favor of softcover anyway. This will encourage better sales and a bigger audience.

So far, so good, though. Lama

Oh man, you are in for a treat. I've read all of them five or more
times, and I wish I could go back and read ASOS fresh, not knowing what
was coming. You're gonna love it. Very Happy

As would I. What a tour de force that was in the field of fantasy
fiction. The monster is quite different from the movie portrayals.

The Frankenstein monster that Hammer films subjected us to in the 50s was based upon the Kabbala-esque Hebrew legend of the Golem. Mary Shelley's creature, however, was just a buncha dudes comprised of spare parts...and he was a pretty darn good orator, at that. If he'd survived at the end of Frankenstein, he should have run for politics. Laughing

2. I agree with what you said about Frankenstein Scott. The original story as a good, short, quick read. Eye-opening the diffs......between the original book and the movies. Twisted Evil

3. This reading thingie is fun. See!! Metalheads can read. tongue

I've always, in all honesty, considered Metalheads to be the most intelligent group of music listeners...maybe I'm a bit biased...even so, I maintain that view....I'm sure most here, at least, will agree Smile
