It isn't easy, but people can survive and thrive on McD's salary, especially of both parents are working.
Two people making $7.50/hr = $15/hr. $15 x 40 hrs a week = 600$. $600 x 52 weeks = $31,200. (and don't tell me about hours not being available. Places like McD's would fall over backwards to hire a couple who were faithful, hard workers willing to put in 40 hrs without being late and calling in sick all the time.)
You're not rich working at McD's, but if you budget and don't spend your money on stupid things, you can do more than O.K.
FOJ, you're off base on this one. Most of us struggle when we're young. My wife and I do well now, but we certainly had our "been there, done that" time.
"I can't make it on McD's salary" is one of the lamest and most over-used excuses for poor behavior/choices.
