| Everything is done electronically now. People can pay their bills online/over the phone and not have to worry about the continual rise of postage stamps. The post office will probably become obsolete, eventually. |

| I might be wrong but isn't the post office actually a private entity? Wish Mattfeast was still around to fill us in. _________________ I don't have time for all if it, so I pick my battles. I think you may be thinking of the IRS or the Federal Reserve. The PO is all public as far as I know._________________ “If you make less than $250,000 your taxes will not go up. You are correct. They are not OWNED by the federal government, but they contract with the federal government and are subsidized by it. Arttie _________________ Constitutional separation of church and state is a lie; it is a figment of the secular-progressive's imagination.

| I didn't know that. And the feds went after Microsoft for being a monopoly? Sheesh... _________________ “If you make less than $250,000 your taxes will not go up. | They aren't a total monopoly, though. Several years ago, the Postal Service began working with both UPS and FedEx to move freight. Many packages are sent via those two services and dropped at your local post office for delivery if they are small enough to fit in your box. | Quote: | | Matt is still around, but he gets really tired of the soap opera that is happening on the Realm so he is visiting other board. |
Apparently, he's not checked us out in quite a while. 90% of the bickering left when we got rid of a couple of detractors. It's rather quiet nowadays._________________ "DEJA MOO--The feeling that you've heard this bull before!" |

| As long as it is illegal to deliver first class mail by any other means, they are a monopoly in my book. _________________ “If you make less than $250,000 your taxes will not go up.
