| Surprise, surprise; they "urbanized" Alvin and the boys. I'll pass. They are going to ruin it, as they are definitely going to "modernize" the cartoon. |

No. Most of the movies in this vein are unnecessary. _________________ ... a chill rises from the soil ... ... and contaminates the air ... ... suddenly ... ... life has new meaning ...

| I agree! I am sooooo sick of the "cartoon to movie" trend. Heck, I'm sick of most Hollywood trends. That's what sent me screaming into the arms of Asian cinema. |

Right on! Last good movie I saw Bangkok Zombie Crisis:Sars Wars! It's a funny zombie movie! I love asian cinema! Somebody posted a link to this poster on the megadethbb the other day. I'll probably end up taking my daughter to see this. I could care less either way though. It's not for me though. It's for the kids! |

| So... people won't buy CD's anymore...... but will continue to shell out millions for what is obvious complete garbage to all but the oblivious to reality... There's a Sex and the City movie coming out too, they'll all blindly go to that one also...maybe it's easier to have no standards at all, then have any taste or preference in the arts...who knows.... Just amazing... Intelligence and other virtues being bullied by the mainsteam in the name and sake of liberty, huh. I'm about tired of it, myself.. _________________ Dark motions, black eyes, and mournful lust, the wings of solitude ...I'm the hateful raven

| All of America's standards are being flushed down the tubes? Why should their movie standards be any different? |

| America's taste in good movies and music dissipated a long time ago. Just look at who wins American Idol and who dominates the airwaves. I agree with Dio, America has no sense of taste. Aesthetics are a thing of the past in this country. Half of the movies that are successful today would've been labelled as 'dreck' 20 years ago. Welcome to the postmodern era, where everything is relative |

| Wow, no one's stuck-up here Just because others like movies that you don't like doesn't mean they don't have taste. Oh, by the way, about this whole "Americans have no taste" crap. First off, those "cartoon-to-live action" movies do VERY POORLY at the box office. COuld that mean that *gasp* Americans AREN'T watching those movies? Second, ditch your Euro-phelia, because movies that tend to do well here (especailly the "mindless" ones)....DO WELL IN THE REST OF THE WORLD AS WELL!!!! Oh yeah, and American Idol (which I DO NOT watch)........ORIGINATED IN EUROPE!!!! Infact, REALITY TV SHOWS FIRST GOT POPULAR IN EUROPE!!!! _________________ Romans 6:1-23 |

| I'm going to steer clear of the taste debate because my beef with Hollywood isn't about taste; it's about ORIGINALITY. There are precious few movies every year that aren't based on an old TV show, cartoon, comic book or that aren't sequels or remakes. Puh-leeze! Enough already! Are there no original screenplays in the US anymore? |
