I find the overtly hysterical reactions to him to be just as disturbing. Tends to cause a short circuit in the whole "rational thought and solutions" thing...

Yeah. I agree with you Exo.

That said.....I do not base any of my extreme dislike for the man, or qualify any of my derogatory thoughts regarding him as "....overtly hysterical reactions...." Nope.

I'll chalk up, "....my extreme dislike for the man, or qualify any of my derogatory thoughts regarding him...." as utterly different ideologies and views, he and I have, regarding spiritual worldviews and realities, political and historical worldviews and realities, the foreign policy naivity he absolutely embodies, etc., etc., and the list goes on and is nearly endless.

Rational. Logical. Well thought out. Well researched. Nothing "hysterical" about it with me.

At the moment, I'm mostly making a commentary on the "Great Red Scare of 2009", led by Glenn "Uncle Joe McCarthy" Beck and his ilk. Or the ever so trendy "Vote Obama for Anti-Christ" club.

They are, fundamentally speaking, no different than 2007's "George Bush cackles gleefully while dining on Iraqi infants" club, or the "I don't dare fart because I might contribute to melting an iceberg, and then the baby seals of the coast of halifax will get eaten by killer whales because they won't have an ice floe to rest on" crew.

The folks DELIGHT in roiling up controversy for controversy's sake (or perhaps $$$, if they are in such a position), and polarization, paranoia, and outright stinking fear and loathing they create SEVERELY HARMS this country's ability to make the sort of reasonable, rational decisions that MUST be made for this country to maintain it's relevance in the world.

As things stand now, we're well on our way towards the same sort of relevance and influence that "I invented the internet" guy has, whatever his name was.........

......but hey, maybe the country as a whole will earn a Nobel out of the deal

You will see an outcry and protest in this nation the likes of which has not been seen before come into being the second Obama's signature hits the paper, and I'm also fairly sure he understands that signing something like this during his FIRST term will seal his fate come 2012. He may not think things thru to their final outcome, but I'm dead sure he understands the consequences of THIS one....

We're already as divided over issues as this country has been in 150 years, and I very firmly believe that enough people see this sort of thing as the
sort of radical change it is that Congress will literally be fearful to
ratify this, due to the potential for the reaction to be bloody and violent.

This is FAR too "in the public eye" to be anything but a distraction technique for the less talked about things that are slid into this and that bill, which are what NEED to be thrust into the pulic spotlight, but are far too often pushed out because they don't share te same level of sensationalism.

That resolution, I'm pretty sure, Obama supported. He already supported a resolution and helped pass one to stop criticism of islam. It's no surprise I believe, he doesn't care about human rights at all and as long as he can steal more from us, the better. From his arrogant mouth we can assume we're the worst nation ever, why would he help us in any way, shape, or form? Why would he not help the victim who was responsible for murdering thousands of us?
