PostSubject: New job   Fri Aug 15, 2008 1:46 pm

I started a new job this week. After working for a major plumbing company as EDI Manager for the past 4 1/2 years, I have ventured into the wonderful world of sales -- in an entirely new industry: automotive after-market.

The company is called The Tire Rack. Yes, I will be your friendly neighborhood tire/rim/brakes/exhaust salesperson. Oddly enough, and quite frankly, I'm not a car buff. I don't care what I drive, I have never read car magazines, but I do know my way around a car. What attracted me to The Tire Rack was, well...teh $$$$... and the ability to finally utilize my language skills in a career-oriented manner.

If you want to check out the website, it's www.tirerack.com. It's pretty cool. You can actually see what the wheels will look in your car before you buy.

Nice rack.

Congratulations on the new job. Sounds like you are excited about it, which, IMO, is a great form of workers compensation.

Maybe tire sales would be cool, but manufacturing them for 18 years is just starting to wear me down emotionally. But, the money is good! It's hard to walk away from good money and benefits.

Wear me down? Did you say that on purpose? You might be tire-d, so I will tread carefully about this post. I mean I don't want to go round and round about this, the pressure might mount up and stem off into a revolution. See that's the hub of the problem, my friend Jack would say trust the wheel within a wheel for the balance you need.

sorry, couldn't resist. congrats though.

Hey does being a lugnut pay anything . . . oddly enough I'm out of work as well . . . any high paying lugnut jobs out there. Well, to spare you anymore puns . . . I'm gonna eat a donut.

Ah. that'd be Firestone.

Now, go cause some more rollovers or something.....

Cool, dude.

Believe me: after the last 2 weeks, I know more about tires than I ever wanted to know......

And still 4 weeks of product training to go!

Here's the cliff notes version:

Tires. They're rubber. make sure they don't get too worn out, or it will impair your ability to drive, sometimes severely.
