I don't mind there being fewer wrecks, just make the wrecks that DO happen be HUGE PILEUPS!

The new double file restarts went well, as I expected. Why did the media make such a big deal of it this week? I miss David Poole!!

I'm glad they decided to change to the double file restarts.

It just makes more sense. Idea

Did anyone see tonight's race? I caught the last 40 laps. Great race. I was pulling for the 24 but he came up short. Jimmy Johnson has all but wrapped up the championship. Nascar will have to change the rules or no one else will be able to win.

I like NASCAR,I am just getting tired of JOHNSONCAR,also you will never hear the end of it if he wins a fourth.People will be calling him one of the greatest, etc.

I saw film of Earnhardt and other older drivers literally fighting it out for the last few laps and it was AWESOME the other day when they announced the HOF members and I kept thinking,if it was still like that,if they allowed a little more contact,Johnson would probably get loose and lose it.He is a fair weather champion,he drives the best equipment money can buy in a new era of racing.

Really like the sport overall and the way NASCAR keeps the drivers in line off the track, just wish they would let them mix it up a little more on track, maybe add some more short tracks, like to see Jimmie Johnson sweat it out on one of those Hooters cup style super short tracks where the lead can change every few laps, then we would see who is really the best in less than ideal close quarter conditions.

I agree it is getting boring with Johnson winning everything. The race yesterday was exciting at the end, especially when Gordon got by Johnson on that last restart. But then Johnson got past him and blew away the field. His car was obviously better by far than anyone else's. What really got me about it was Chad Knaus saying they still did not have the car where they wanted it. How much better can they make it? And how is it they are that much better than their teammates?

Still it is not as bad as back in the day when Richard Petty would win races by more than one lap. I wonder if people talked about his equipment back then.

For example, in 1967 at Nashville, Petty crashed. They fixed the car and he was 7 laps back. He ended up winning by 5 laps!! What a car.

Unfortunately, it seems more about who can buy the best car then who is the best driver. Oh, Jimmie is good, but it seems so often he just has the fastest car. I remember guys like Foyt and Earnhardt who often didn't have the fastest car and still won.

Yeah,I have to admit that I like the Petty family, they went above and beyond racing in their offtrack efforts, and despite the outcome I continued to support Kyle, but, back then if someone could have caught Richard LOL,they would have been banging it out in the last laps.I work with this guy who is a big Gordon fan,and he was alright with Martin getting it too,but he cannot STAND Johnson. With me,its not so much that I have anything against Hendrick,as it is just that I like other drivers more,I would be alright with Martin winning it though.

EJ needs to start his own team,or finally go to Childress and give the fans what they want IMO,I hear Harvick is leaving, its time to bring back the 3,like or not KB is the most qualified candidate, but only EJ would be accepted in the seat .

I can't help but think that "JJ" team is cheating in some capacity.

Maybe even with the assistance of NASCAR.

The Budweiser Shootout.

Only in America will an alcoholic beverage company sponsor an event involving cars driving at high rates of speed.

Ooh,a "conspiracy",but hey that is just sour grapes, isn't it.

Thing is to me since it is supposedly about the "Chase",NASCAR needs to ramp up the excitement a little. You want excitement, how about expanding the Chase part to 15 races, add another date at Martinsville or Bristol, maybe Richmond, add in an odd Hooters cup style super short track, start with 0 points, keep it at 12 drivers and sit back and watch the fun, lets really go racin boys ! With a format like that, there would be more time for point lead shuffles,10 races is just not enough ,JJ likely on his way to a fourth is proof of that.........

Johnson cannot be stopped.

Nascar needs to make some big changes. Remember the whole "chase" thing started because the end of the year was getting boring. Someone would get a big points lead and then just race for points and not wins. Now it is almost as bad with the absolute dominance by the 48 team. You just know that once the chase gets here it will be all Johnson.

Gordon and Montoya have top 5 finishes and still lose points, crazy.

I'm not sure he's cheating... but it's hard to think that he's just that much better than everyone, too.

Especially with the other drivers in that organization. They all have the same equipment (in theory). How can he be that much better than a 4-time champion? Or the best driver to never win a championship? Or Junior for that matter?

It's hard to believe but maybe he is just better. Gordon seems to play it a little safe lately.

He does seem to have lost some of his edge the past several years. Maybe its the new wife and baby.

Johnson is good, but Knaus has to get a lot of credit also I think.
