Then you would look like an escapee from a Michael Jackson video.

Halloween is awesome and I doubt I will ever get dissapproved of enough/skeered to quit celebrating it.

A church I started going to recently made a point of saying no one in the membership celebrates Halloween and won't even do anything remotely alternative, like a 'Harvest' party or whatever. They are going to have a private party at the roller skating rink. That's cool I guess. I'm going trick or treating in costume.

I will never be down with the idea that one day or another 'belongs' to the devil...sez who?? Hallmark?? Those who make the federal calendar??

Some loooooooong dead pagan/druid folks who have nothing to do with me and cannot in any way shape or form nullify the blood of Christ shedd for me? I think not..the end.

I think it's fine if people want to refrain from the celebration, they should follow their conscience absolutely but they can keep their fear/focus on superstition to themselves.

Darn fine post Angel.

That post is so well stated......i've nothing else to add.

Because dressing up like Martin Luther looked in 1517 is boring.

Besides.......if you go around the neighborhood and nail up a bunch of photocopied papers which look like the Ninety--five Theses (Disputatio pro declaratione virtutis indulgentiaru) on your neighbors' front doors......you're probably going to get arrested, sooner than later.

Where's the fun in looking like Martin Luther in 1517 and sitting inside a jail cell??

Exactly, the Olympics have Pagan roots (the original Olympics were to honor zeus, odin, hercules, etc). Does that mean Christian athletes shouldnt compete, even though the pagan elements are no longer used?

A Zombie Martin Luther? It'd take forever to get the thesis nailed to the door.

No doubt! That guy had really badd hair. Besides, as much as he did for our faith, God bless him, he wasn't having the right kind of heart towards teh Jews so in that sense, he's not much to celebrate, for me.

That would be metal

Dressing up as a monster or superhero seems a bit silly if you are over 12 years old.

But whatever tickles your fancy...

hmmm...silly you say?

What's that I hear? It's very faint, but I think I recognize it as the undeniable sound of Strutter being pwnD.

Besides I'm dressing upp as a pirate. ArrrrRR!! Gimme yer Smarties and yer Kandy Kornz, ye scurvy dawGs!!

Interesting!

I've officially given up on America, I looked at them as the bastion of freedom but now that Obama has signed the hate speech act and is sucking up to the moslems you've really lost the plot.
2 or 3 years time America will wake up out of their slumber and realize they've blown it...........then go back to sleep.

Mrs Ramreb:New Zealand doesn't really celebrate Halloween like americans. We have Guy Fawkes when we celebrate the burning of catholics instead!Anyway, Ray Comfort produces excellent tracts to give out to american kids for Halloween http://www.livingwaters.com/index.php?option=com_rokdownloads&view=file&Itemid=237&id=43%3Ahalloween-cards〈=en
.Here are some reformation party ideas for the more alternative:Dress up in awesome medieval/renaissance clothing, listen to medieval/ renaissance metal music, eat medieval pottage with apple cider of course, decorate your house in the era, let the kids go wild making stained glass winows with oil and paper, play apple-bobbing, blindman's bluff, archery and even 'pin the thesis in the doorway'- after the apple cider of course! There'll be no pumkin-pie unfortunately-pumkin not around then- but we have to have that around Easter in Nz anyway because of the season
