These are probably just more intense versions of what the NFL drills will be like...

They won't ever run a (timed) Forty again (except maybe at their Pro-day, coming up).....or the broad jump.....or vertical leap...but, I LOVE watching them do them.

I wouldn't say they won't ever do it... I mean, they have to be doing it throughout their NFL career for scouts to have an understanding of what is good. It's probably not a one time thing. It's probably not an emphasis four years into a career like it is on these kids now... but I would think they may still do a timed 40 or vertical leap... at some point every year, even if at the least it's for them to see personally where they've improved or lost a step.

I was just going by what the former NFL players, now employed by the NFL on NFLNetwork were saying.

Warren Sapp continues to say it..................maybe to attempt to lull us into NOT remembering how he KILLED himself, as far as draft $$$$$, with his pot smoking.

Started looking at mock drafts, not that they are too accurate, but, The Browns need to get better on both sides, but, at #5 there are going to be some very good defensive players available....maybe they go LB or DB.....I am now hopeful Razz (couldn't find the emoticon with "Sucker" written across the smileys forehead, so this one has to do) that they will get somebody pretty good at #5.

True fans stick by their home teams dude.. I was born and raised in Cleveland and you will NEVER break my spirit! Anybody can be pick a winning team and jump on the band wagon, but when the Brown are Champions once again (and they will be) it will truly be satifying for the true fans who stuck with them through these lean years. Anybody can be a band wagon jumper.. Food for thought.. Wink

GO Browns!

Hey, so, I am gonna throw this out here.....not that it is my original thought, but, do you expect even more of a "Win-Now" approach to the coaches this year?

I have been thinking about it, and with Gruden, Billick, ShanUhhan, Mary-OOchie....etc, coaches like that, out there.....I think that we May see (other than Duh Raaayyyders, you know that Cable-guy is a "dead-man-walking") a One And Done with some of these young-hip-cat-coaches???

So, to recap my rambling thought: I will NOT be surprised, when, NFL Team Owners Can/Fire their new, first-year head coaches, when said team lays an ever-familiar egg. I expect these new coaches to get Less time to build a winner than their predecessor......(RAC, RIP Razz ).

I am sooooooooooo glad T.O. is not in big D. He's a huge talent who disrupts team chemistry and I think it will help them.

PostSubject: Re: Football Season   Thu Apr 02, 2009 5:40 pm

I'm just really not sure about how "good" Cutler actually is. No, his receiver's weren't the best out in Denver, but I REALLY wonder how much of his production was product of DB's being "gassed" at Denver, and his receivers being "juiced" with more O2 than they were used to at away games. Some folks might ague that he's better than last year's record indicates because the defense sucked....but the Bears defense is starting to look a touch on the old side, so I don't know for certain that Chicago is getting a "better" QB , who will be surrounded by "better" circumstances. Not to mention, Chicago is HARDLY known as a team likely to "air it out" ......

IMHO, Chicago screwed themselves the last several years with "Rex is our QB", when Orton performed just as well as a freaking rookie. Give him 4 more years as a starter running the team, instead of the QB's constantly being switced, and I'm not at all sure that HE wouldn't be the guy with the superlatives being tossed around about his play. But then again, this is Chicago we're talking about, the place that sent Thomas Jones packing in favor of Cedric Benson. So naturally, Cutler and a 5th round pic for Orton and a pair of first rounders ought to work out exactly as they expect.............

I'm just not entirely sure that at the end of the season we don't end up seeing both teams missing the playoffs, and Orton in Denver having a better statistical season.
