| Guess so.... GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Brett Favre era in Green Bay is now officially over. But Favre's legendary career is not. The month-long saga has finally come to an end, with the Packers agreeing to trade their future Hall-of-Fame quarterback to the New York Jets, FOXSports.com has learned. The exact compensation was not immediately known, but it is believed to be a single draft pick that increases in value depending upon how the Jets perform during the 2008 season. As a result of this, the Jets will likely release a quarterback. Signs have been pointing to Chad Pennington as the likely culprit because the team will need to free up cap room to fit Favre's contract under the salary cap. The Jets were much more aggressive than the Bucs in their pursuit of Favre all along. The bigger issue was getting Favre on the same page as the Packers front office as far as the Jets were concerned. (taken from FoxSports.com) There is more on FoxSports, but I just copied the pertinent stuff. | Fitting. It seems that's where quarterbacks go to die lately. _________________ ...the earth becomes my throne, I adapt to the unknown, under wandering stars i've grown, by myself but not alone...

| here in WI, the feeling is, he retired, he screwed around with the Packers club, he tried for mo' money, mo' money, mo' money, time to give somebody else a chance, the other fellow has been trained to start already and cry baby suddenly wants to come back, seems he just can't handle his last pass being an interception. His name's not totally mud here, but this is the general consenses from what I can tell in these parts, and I pretty much agree! The Jets are quite blessed to get him in their current situation. I wish them and him well, but more so our Packers! _________________ "These go to 11" -Nigel Tufnel

| If this wholw thing was about money why not take the 25 mil. to stay home...Favre is a legend one of the best quarter backs to play. If he wants to play let him play. As far as Rogers, no one has a "time". I hear people say, "this is his time". Your not gaurented anything....Favre wants to play, he plays, Rogers sits another 2 years min. IMO |

| The Packers HAD to move on! I think they're doing the right thing. I've always liked Favre, but lately, he's made an a$$ of himself, IMO! I think Favre's glory days are a thing of the past. He had a great year last year, but IMO, it was more of a fluke than anything else. I don't think he will do well with the Jets! Other than the Browns, the Packers are my team, love Favre, but he's a drama queen, he's been pullin' this crap w/GB for years now, let the baby go! BTW, everyone talks of Farve and Star, they seem to forget a QB in the middle who may have been better then both of them! _________________ "ex nihilo nihil fit"

| lol! Candlemass, Farve being a "drama queen" is right and it is time for the Pack to move on just as you say no-You! I think if he'd be with them this year, it wouldn't be good, even for him. Will be interesting to see how he plays for the Jets. _________________ "These go to 11" -Nigel Tufnel

Uh...no. The Packers will finish better than the Jets IMO. The Pack has a much easier division to play in. |
