| Favorite? Hard to say (leaning towards Aragorn....book Aragorn is simply fascinating. I'd love a deeper account of his Ranger days) Best....Gollum....a very deep and conflicted little guy. _________________ Hey kid! |

| Tom Bombadil fascinates me, although that passage always seems like an unnecessary "aside". It's a tease....I guy who with a twinkle in his eye might just be able to deal with Sauron....but just doesn't care. His back-story would interest me. _________________ Hey kid! |

| Tom Bombadil is also the subject of one of Tolkien's LONG poems.. found outside of the trilogy books. And , of course, treebeard refers to him... in the trilogy books. It's not that he doesn't care about sauron or the world around him, he hints that it is the "fate" of others to walk that path and confront those evils.

| The Ungoliant and her offspring always interest me as well. Shelob is the last...I want to know more about the battles of her kind that led to their demise. _________________ Hey kid! |

| Ulmo, king of the sea and maker of music! brutal. The Witch King of Angmar, who doesn't love the Witch King? The Blue Wizards, because more wizards are always good and there's almost no information about them. _________________ Dark motions, black eyes, and mournful lust, the wings of solitude ...I'm the hateful raven

| Well. yea, there is information about the wizards in teh silmarillion.. The leaders of their kind are actually just "angelic" beings who take on teh form of old men.. to help "influence" the directions of certain events in middle earth. |

| ye[, Gandalf is really jut Tolkien's version of Odin, the grey wanderer. Who also was a "god" who would take on a fragile old man's form to test and influence people. |

| I believe the divine sort of order goes like this: Eru (creator) ---- Ainur Vala Maiar Isatari (these last two are differing lower 'ranks' of Ainur) _________________ Dark motions, black eyes, and mournful lust, the wings of solitude ...I'm the hateful raven

| Also, of note.. Gandalf's fight with the balrog...his physical death and resurrection as gandalf the white.. is obviously very Symbolic. My band, Opus Majestic did a song all about that.. called Mithrandir. (his elven name). |

| Honestly, I must admit to loving the Hobbits, they had such a simple joy, but when the time came there were unswervingly loyal and brave to a fault. _________________ When a man says it's a silly childish game, it's probably something his wife can beat him at. -- Don Epperson

I easily like their society the best. I'd love to live in the Shire. In fact, I pretty much want to live somewhere right now that would be the closest approximation. However, I am married and also want that to continue._________________ Hey kid! |
