I thought it was sooper cool when she disembodied the already dead Witch King by plunging a weapon into him and caused him to deflate in form and go to somewhere else, like a LOTR vacation destination such as Bree--Land, Ered Luin, Falathlorn, or perhaps Thorin's Hall.

Tolkiens worls is all about the details.

He wouldn't return to elven strongholds. He probaly returned to the towe of Barad Dur or maybe Cirith Ungol.. later referred to as Minas Morgul.. ( where the morgul blades were forged that frodo was stabbed with).



The Tower of Cirith Ungol was built by the Men of Gondor after Sauron was defeated in the War of the Last Alliance at the end of the Second Age. The Tower was the easternmost outpost of the defences of Ithilien.
Its original purpose was to keep watch on the land of Mordor to ensure
that no evil things escaped and to guard against the possibility of the
Dark Lord's return. But over time, as Gondor's power declined, the
vigilance on Mordor became lax and the Tower was deserted.
After the Lord of the Nazgûl
returned to Mordor in 1980, the Tower came under his control. From
Cirith Ungol, he led an assault on Minas Ithil, which was captured in
2002 and became his stronghold known as Minas Morgul.
Sauron returned to Mordor in 2942, and he used the Tower of Cirith
Ungol to prevent any of his slaves or prisoners from escaping from
Mordor. A garrison of OrcsShagra were stationed in the Tower, and at the time of the War of the Ring their captain was

I'd have to say the Hobbits. I am the world's largest Hobbit. I have the large, hairy feet to prove it.

Plus, anyone who eats 2nd breakfast is okay by me!

I am a big fan of the Tolkien books, and enjoy them immensely, but I find that I also enjoy the movies although missing parts like tom Bombadil and was disappointed that the shire appeared unaffected. However i can seperate the two into two very different experiences. Both very enjoyable for me!

Do you all find that a lot of people are either in love with the book and hate the movies or love the movies but have never read the books?

I would fall into the latter category.

The books are masterpieces. The movies could have been doen better by worrying less about giving them an "epic" feel.

Tolkien's magic lies in the details. Like I've said before.

I have not read the books, just watched the movies. I loooooove to read, just not that kind.

It was actually the overload of details that made them hard for me to read when i was younger.(and i read les miserables in 6th grade) However they do add a great depth to the books.

In 51 years and after reading umpteen books and seeing lots of movies......i've never seen a movie (IMO) that was as good as the book.


The LOTR movies are good--for what they are--and entertaining--for what they are......movies. But IMO the books are wayyyyyyyyyy better.

Love the books. Really like the movies.


I do know for a fact, I couldn't do it better.

I've got to go with the Hobbits in general.....the way they just turn into little "you don't want to screw with me" butt kickers when their backs are against the wall.......
