I was @ work (CD store) yesterday filling in for someone. While I was there, I was talking about wanting an iPod. Turns out, a guy there got an 80gb iPod Video (music, photos & video) for a graduation present....so he wants to sell his 60gb iPod Photo (music & photos only, no vids). How much? $80 The 60gb holds up to 15,000 songs. I'm going tomorrow to pick it up.

Everything I own (1200+ albums) should fit with room to spare...but I doubt I put it all on there at once...

I had all my albums on there... but my system crashed so when I reinstalled iTunes I couldn't have it on auto update anymore. Plus half of my collection was on an internal harddrive that had to be formatted. So now everything is backed up on an external harddrive. It's so nice to have auto update again. 1200 cd's should fit fine. _________________ My Heroes

I'm going manual...I don't like auto update. 90% of my collection is saved on DVDR's...keeping my iPod on manual update allows me to not leave things in my son's iTunes library (we share)...

I have a 30 Gig - I love it. I never use iTunes - I use MonkeyMedia (.com). It's free - it rocks. I can put stuff on & off with no issues whatsoever..... My kids all use it to. We have like 6 mp3 players in the house!

work. I just had a bunch of problems with iTunes when I loaded it up. It was slower than cold molasses - and the autoupdate thing drove me nuts. Plus - I don't think you can take mp3's off of your ipod to itunes. Just a preference really - but I like the creativeness that goes into developing something - and the editing of tags is very easy - you can look up cd's on the net and d/l songs, names, titles & artwork, and associate them automagically - and lots of other features. It does a lot. Here's some: <LI> Organize music and edit tags in your audio library with a powerful, intuitive interface<LI> Automatically lookup and tag Album Art and other metadata<LI> Manage 50,000+ files in your music collection without bogging down<LI> Play MP3s and other audio formats, and never again worry about varying volume<LI> Record CDs into OGG, MP3, FLAC and WMA files<LI> Convert MP3s, OGG, FLAC and WMA files into other formats with the Audio Converter <LI> Create playlists and music mixes quickly and easily to suit any occasion<LI> Synchronize with iPods / MP3 players effortlessly and convert tracks on-the-flyPlus much more...

I use it to update my ipod ... but when it comes to burning and ripping, I prefer musicmatch. _________________ ... a chill rises from the soil ... ... and contaminates the air ... ... suddenly ... ... life has new meaning ...

The only thing I can see that it does that iTunes doesnt is the OGG & FLAC formatting. Other than that, the rest looks the same to me. But I hear that iTunes is a lot slower on PCs than Macs. If that's true, then I can't blame you.

slower than slow. iTunes would literally bring my computer (not quite a kray - but fairly robust - > 1G ram, 3800+ AMD dual core) to a screeching halt. Of course - I'm using windooooze....
