Bugs and computers

Not that kind of bug. I'm talking about gnats. I don't know where they came from, but somehow 4 gnats got into the computer room. They kept flying in front of the monitors while I was trying to work. I killed 3 of them, but the 4th is still flitting in front of the monitors and I can't seem to kill it. I'll be typing away and there it goes, left to right. Clap, nope, missed. Typing away, there it goes, right to left. Clap. Missed. It's driving me nuts. And I can't be positive, but I think I just counted a 5th.

Gnats are very annoying...same with mosquitos.

Having food at the computer does not bring ants like that video. I eat at my computer at home constantly and don't ahve issues like that. Of course, I have ant traps around my desk area just in case!

I often snack and sometimes eat meals at my computer. And I've always got a drink on hand, be it a Coke, iced tea, water, whatever. I've only knocked a Coke onto my mouse and keyboard a few times, only once to the point of needing to replace things.

A decade ago, when I worked tech support for Biblesoft, I somehow managed to flip a can of Dr. Pepper perfectly upside down on top of a printer, spilling nothing anywhere except down inside the printer. You could hear the sizzling of the board inside as it went to the land of the computer dead.

As for the gnats, I figured out where they came from. Not from the cats, since our cats are entirely indoor pets. They came from my wife, as she is constantly leaving the front door and screen door open too long while she makes trips to and from the van, so the bugs see the porch light and the light in the vestibule and move back and forth like they own the place. Bugs come in by the mouthful. I try to tell my wife to keep them out. No go. But she comes to me to kill the crane flies and moths. Oh well. There's only 1 gnat left in the computer room, and only a half dozen or so zipping around the kitchen. I'll get them all.
