| Yep, he signed a 4 year, $38 million extension through 2013 with (I think) an option for 2014. He has said he wants to stay in KC his entire career. He was even interviewed last week when the Royals were in New York. One of the reporters asked him if he was wishing he could be in the playoffs, hinting that maybe he should leave KC. Greinke responded, and I'm paraphrasing this, but it's close, "Yeah, I want to be in the playoffs, but I want to be in the playoffs for Kansas City. I don't want to be a Yankee". We have a mutual friend from Philly. Gary. I owe him some serious smack.....if the dodgers beat Philly. I have been working from home the last couple of months. I may actually get to watch every play off game by every team. My Dodgers are up 2-0 over the Cards. GO DODGERS! |

| I did get in a bit of trouble today. Mrs. bigjtink came home for lunch. She has a hard time understanding why I NEED 4 t.v.'s on at the same time. What ever, I needed em. If I could get a t.v. in the hall way I would. Just so I wouldnt miss anything. |

| I was suprised at that sweep, personally. The Cards offense just EVAPORATED! Arttie _________________ Constitutional separation of church and state is a lie; it is a figment of the secular-progressive's imagination.

| Their offense evaporated right after they clinched the division. They only won 7 of their last 24 games in the regular season. _________________ "The banner of loud and rebellious music will never die. It just gets older." - GODSWIZARD

| Phillies are still on the march toward a second consecutive championship. Next victim: The Dodgers. The record of these two teams during the regular season keeps being repeated in discussions/analysis of this series, but the last time they played was in early June. The Dodgers were red hot the first half of the season, while the Phillies really came to life in July and were hot in the second half. Jimmy Rollins was batting under .150 for the year in early June, but got hot after the All-Star break and has done well since. Furthermore, the Phillies have since acquired ace Cliff Lee. The Dodgers meanwhile faded badly down the stretch, and but for a game or two the other way against the Rockies would have choked right out of the NL West crown. Sweeping the Cardinals was impressive, but the Dodgers make a living on right-handed pitchers, which is what the Cardinal aces are. Welcome to the Phillies, where the aces are lefties (Lee, Hamels, Happ). I am NOT saying the Dodgers can't win this series. Far from it. They're loaded with talent, a killer bullpen, and a very good manager in Joe Torre. You can't ever count out a team like that, especially when they have home field advantage. But I really like the Phillies in this series. I'm usually of the "Negadelphia" ilk who always pick our teams to lose. But in this case, I really think the Phils are going to win this series and go on to the World Series. I will come back and eat my large helping of crow if I am wrong. |
