Join one of the groups to grow your mafia. You will gets tons of people requesting you as a friend. When you add them to the game, you can delete them. They stay in your mafia without your home page being all cluttered up.

I've been reconnecting with some old friends from high school and playing Mafia Wars. It doesn't take much time to play as you have a certain amount of "energy" to use. Once you are out, you have to wait hours before it builds back up so you can play again. As far as graphics, there isn't much to this game.

At least with Facebook, you don't get 5 bazillion bands asking to be your friend even if you don't listen to them.
