| This is a email I recieved moments ago...If you would please take a moment, take a deep breath and lift up this orphanage and its children in prayer. They would appreciate it. Thanks - David
All,
I received word today from an adoption coordinator in Denver that there has been a major flu outbreak in Haiti. It is a very strong virus and many people have already died because of it including 3 babies from our orphanage (two more are in critical condition). They have no way to quarantine the other children there so please pray for their protection. There are around 40 children that have families waiting for them and are just waiting on the paperwork to process through before they are able to go and get them. I can’t help but think especially of those families and children. It has also hit the staff at GLA (the orphanage) so they are now understaffed and trying to care for many sick children. Please pray for the disease to dissipate and for medical supplies to reach the people that need them.
Thank You! Shana

| Update from the director of the orphanage in Haiti - prayer changes things David =====================================
Hi!
Praise God that the children are getting better! I have 21 children on antibiotics and today we have fewer children with fevers and only 1 on IV's. She is a little girl who has only been here two weeks and doesn't have adoptive parents yet.
If we can be thankful for anything during the flu epidemic, it is that none of the 3 children that died had adoptive parents. It seems that the ones who are the sickest are the ones who have not been here very long and had existing conditions when admitted.
We thank everyone who has been praying and your prayers were heard and answered. Last night was the first night of sleep that I have had where I did not have to go down to the nursery several times during the night for almost a week now.
Babies who have been at the orphanage for awhile are much stronger because they have received baby formula and good food while here. They also have received a daily multi- vitamin and iron pill every day. This has helped them to build up a little resistance.
The older children were sick with the same flu, but were able to fight it more than the babies were. I am just so thankful that most of the children are well and nobody is critically ill today!
And life in Haiti is never dull....
