Prayer for a sad situation

A child(13 years old) in our city hanged himself the other night. Apparently he was being picked on at school. I don't know many details and I don't know the family but he was friends with a girl in the youth group in our church. This girl is like my daughter. She has asked my wife and I to adopt her several times. It started as a joke I think but now I think she's serious.

Anyway, this terrible tragedy has to be affecting her and many others including the boy's family. Please pray for all of them in the coming weeks. Thank You.

In the last 2 weeks 2 more teens have hanged themselves here. Both appeared to be good kids,students and athletes. I can't understand what can be so wrong in their lives to do this. I didn't know any of them personally but this is really bothering me. Maybe it's because I have 2 young boys(9 and 12). It really worries me that something is going on in children's lives that we as parents can't control and if we could maybe we could help them. I don't know what to think. I'm scared to death that as a parent I may miss something that could impact the lives of my boys so much that something could happen to them. Every time I think of this it just makes me sick. Sorry, I know I'm rambling but I needed to vent some frustration.

We live in a culture where life is often not seen to have value and it's in much of our media no matter what anyone says. Kids are in awful situations and if they latch onto something that says it's better to be out of here they may follow through. It's good to be aware but I wouldn't be too fearful, I think your love and concern for your kids will stand them well.
