Yikes! I just found out my co-worker is out of the office for five days, because she has contracted the Swine Flu. She came down with it on Saturday and had been contagious for the five days before, meaning I was exposed to it all last week. I was told that it's ten days before you show symptoms, so this week, if I come down with it, it could be this week.

Please pray that I did not get this flu and that my co-worker will be alright, as she has asthma and this flu effects the upper respiratory system.

Thanks, guys....you all rock! I really appreciate your prayers. I feel a lot better after posting this and feel certain that I will be fine. Thanks for praying for my co-worker as well.

If you are taking care of yourself, you probably won't get this. I am a substitute teacher and have been around several students who have contracted H1N1. I have had a sinus infection, but no flu so far.

People around us have had it and we've escaped so far. It doesn't seem as bad as originally thought but I will definitely pray for this situation.

Those that really have it get pretty sick and will be home for many days recouperating.

I did not take the vaccine. I've had a couple of sinus infections, and any flu vaccine still attacks a weaker immune system. You won't get the flu from the vaccine, but you are more susceptible to other flus when you take the H1N1 vaccine. So, I'm gonna do what I normally do and just take a chance.

Yeah, I hear that those who have it get really sick. The lady at my job is going to be out for 5-10 days, but then again, she has asthma so it hit her a little harder.

I'm glad to hear that you didn't take the vaccine.....I refuse to take it. It is dangerous.....people who take it may develop a deadly nerve disease. I don't have the links with me now, as I'm at work but there is information out there that this vaccine can be quite deadly.

You are still in my prayers D, for this, and i'm still asking our FATHER GOD that you don't get sick at all from Swine Flu......either now or in the future.

Someone told me the other day that they irrigate their sinus cavities
with a neti pot and gargle with salt water once or twice a day as a
defensive mechanism against Swine Flu. It can't do any harm, certainly.

I'm the type who seems to catch every flu virus that comes around. Everyone in my office last week was sick with some sort of flu....in addition to the lady with swine flu, another person was out with a type B flu and two others out with the stomach flu, so I was surrounded by flu germs, yikes! I prayed, upped my Vitamin C intake, as well as take a Vitamin D caplet every day and olive leaf, which is good for battling viruses and bacteria, but by Tuesday I started getting symptoms that I was getting sick, so I added some zinc lozenges and that all helped in keeping me from coming down with the flu, and my symptoms went away after a few days.

The lady at my office who had swine flu returned to work today. She said she it took her about 3 days before she started to feel better. Because she has asthma, her doctor gave her steroids, in addition to the Tamiflu.
