Just got out of the Hospital yesterday.

Last Monday as I have done for several years I went to my chiroractor for an adjustment. this time things went very wrong and I have been in some real pain for the last few days. Turns out I have had an issue with a birth defect in my neck and I knew that. What has happend is I also have a degenerative disc issue in my spine. The two combined have now put me in a pretty nasty situation. According to the Nuro I saw yesterday in the hospital I am fortunate to be alive and not at the least a quad. This was not the chiropractors fault as he knew about the defect the disc have deteriorated over a period of several years and that he did not know The adjustment has just forced the greater problem to show itself as of now.
I really don't know fully what I am looking at long term and am quite shall we say "concerned". From what I understand two disc in my neck never unfused at birth and with the deterioration of the disc I now have some pressure on my spinal core. That is causing a number of phisical issues to manifest several I never dreamed were related to this problem in my neck.
Bottom line I am in some pretty strong pain right now and rather nevious over the long term implications here.
To make matters much worse i just found out my wifes new health insurace plan may leave me owing thousands of dollars on the bill instead of the few hundered the old plan wfrom last year would have left on the co-pay and coverage. That would be finacially devistating right now.
Please excuse the spelling a typing mess I'm making it's hard to think in this kind of pain and being this medicated.

Depending on how bad it is, treatment could range from laying in bed for the next couple of weeks to surgery. None of it's fun, and you have my prayers.
