John AKA Kratos

For those of you who knew him on this board - John McManus aka Kratos died of cancer last Tuesday (Aug. 21st 2008). He was a dear friend (I originally met him here) and he passionately witnessed and preached and testified until the very end. His only regret was having to leave his wife and 2 children and the rest of us who needed him.

Prayers for his family are appreciated.

Oh no! So sorry to hear about this. I feel so sorry for his wife and kids. Is there anything we can do to help them out?

yea, that sucks. Miss that guy. At least his suffering has ended and he's at peace, never to be apart of pain again.

I think this post of his...has a greater meaning now if you read it again..

We all go through these dark nights of the soul.
I see them as transition periods when God is about to do something new
in our lives. Like Abraham leaving UR and not knowing where he was
going, we are often required to "leave" one area before we "cleave" to
the next.

All I can say is that He is faithful and night does
not last forever. Soon the Morningstar will again awaken in your heart
with new freshness and understanding of Him.

I don't understand
why we are required to take these few steps in the dark alone by faith
periodically, but I do know that it is true and of God.

Wow, I was the one who first invited him here. He was an amazing man with a great grasp on the mercy of God. I never knew he was sick either. At least he is at peace and with his Creator now. This is truly mind numbing. Will be praying for his family.

We had a long phone conversation just before he passed away. The peace in his voice was amazing. No fear, no dread just... peace.

We would especially appreciate to know how John affected others in the Body of Christ, thru the internet. He was a wonderful husband and father and it still doesn't seem real that he is in heaven without us.

Of course John would never ask for financial help but I know that his main concern was for the support of his wife and kids. He has a grown daughter but his son Jonathan is 16.
