As some of you know I have recently become a Christian. However, I am having a struggle with my old self. I am trying so hard not to use vulgar language. Twisted Evil

I am able to avoid getting drunk with my buddies and go home when they head off to strip clubs, but for some reason I can't stop swearing. Its not as bad as it used to be, but I feel like I'm letting God down. Crying or Very sad

I pray everyday for Christ to give me strength, but I could use you guys too.

You will grow in Christian maturity. Time. Putting into practice those things/behaviours you know please GOD. Time. This is a day by day walk......a day by day journey.....Paul in the New Testament equates the Christian walk/journey to a "race", and urges us to be persistent and always head for the finish line. Time. You will fail and fall (if you are human)......just get up, dust yourself off, and continue on the walk/journey toward GOD. Time. You are saved and have eternal life and the indwelling of HIS SPIRIT. JESUS died for you. You are blessed as you've chosen and decided to follow HIM. Time......it all comes with time.

I've been a Christian for 30+ years, all as an adult, saved at age 23. You know what that 30+ years give me in my Christian walk/journey (among many, many other things, but I think now of one thing in particular)?? Question

It gives me 30+ years of learning GOD is patient and loving with me.....and my mistakes.....which still occur. GOD won't give up on you......so don't give up on you either. You will become more CHRISTlike in the times you are obedient. Time.

Praying

KISS

Thank GW for responding. I knew it was going to be tough living up to the Christian lifestyle, but I want to live my life the way God wants me to. I try to do my best. And I know He knows I'm trying.

I did however notice that since I've been baptized I've become more sensitive when discussing how Jesus died for us.
