It's just a routine checkup on my blood pressure. I'm not sick or anything. The Dr. just likes to keep tabs on how my BP is doing. Right now, it looks pretty good.

Everything looked good. Doc wants me to try to shed 20 pounds by the time I go back in Sept. That's a lot easier said than done, though, especially when you weigh what I do.

Uhggg........rabbit food.

I don't care if I end up being one of those people that can no longer stand because of their extreme weight if I have to live off of salads. I'd much rather learn to manage what I eat rather than live off of salads to lose weight.

You don't have to eat just salads (although you should be eating some salad). Losing weight is a matter of eating less calories than your body uses up, plain and simple. Some light excercise, combined with eating less and eating heathier works every time.

I lost 10 lbs... in a day... and not the fun "let's eat less and exercise" way, either...

I was half joking about the salad. I have been doing a modified Adkins for the past year and have had great success with my muscle tone and keeping my belly flat. Very Happy

I still get carbs in at least one fruit and one veg. a day, but when I snack, and it is okay to snack, for me, I eat a slice of meat or some cheese, or both. I eat as much with this plan, I just rarely snack on what people usually call snacks.

A coworker bought everyone double cheeseburgers off the dollar menu tonight, and I had that, minus the top bun for my dessert. Razz

Anyway, protein holds me alot longer than carbs....so, I don't get hungry after meals, and when I do snack on protein I don't binge like I would on carbs.

5lbs a month seems a little high. I would shoot for 3 a month. The key is what you eat and when you eat it. Don't load up on high carb food before bed as the body converts that to sugars which get turned to fat.
The overabundance of protein is not really a problem unless you aren't balancing out with fibers and liquids. One easy thing, switch to higher fiber breads and cereals and put down the oreos.

Absolutely. Wheat bread, oatmeal, etc....

Organic oreos are fine. Very Happy
