Simple yet effective practice songs??

Hey guys,
I've been a newbie since mid-April and practicing along with "Hoops" and learning a few things from the guy who sold me my guitar. I've been hitting the finger exercises hard ( I don't mind the mindless reps.) but I'm interested in some basic yet fun and useful songs to practice my chords on. I've got A, D, E, G and C down so what are some complete songs I can play those chords on and get them down cold? I've tried framing this question to "yahoo" and "Google" but I don't get much help from those engines....thanks!!

Off the top of my head, try out "All I Can Do is Write About It" by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
