 Silver Pressed cds?

I know there are quite a few professional and semi-professional
recording engineers here. My question is a simple (possible stupid) one.

How cost prohibitive is it to get the equipment to produce silver
pressed cds as opposed to cdrs for a well set-up home studio? Does
anyone here currently have the ability to do that or is it so
astronomical as to make it not worth considering?
