New toys Very Happy

Traded my Old beat up Line 6 spyder II 2x12" for a carvin ts100 100 watt tube amp that has a 4x12" Marshall slant bottom and a 4X12" Crate straight bottom with it.

Now Im gonna sell or trade my Old Laney 50 tube head w/a older crate bottom and a boss gt-6 effects unit......My goal is to get zooms newest flagship of a floor effects unit.

Here is the deal. After 22 yrs of playing guitar lost in the world of cheap gear and bad tone, I found a foundation for "MY SOUND" and it happens to be the effects included in my all in one Zoom HD16CD recording unit. Now let me tell you this......not in 22 yrs have I heard a Zoom effects product I liked but after just messing around with the onboard effects playing an Epiphone Les Paul (Customized Studio) that I was not really fond of its sound but it looks awesome, I found the perfect amount of crunch, deep end rumble and "TONE" and now I feel like Im a slave to this machine which is not a floor unit by any means and doesnt have effects I can change on the fly.......Visits to Music store have all been lack luster with other brands effects units and so from what I understand this unit has the same effects as my recorder sooooooo Im hoping I will have my sound soon.........Played at volume on 100 watts of screaming tube power Smile

Dude peavey Bandits have a tone unto themselves......I hear an old peavy combo amp and I get a combination of nostoalga S/P? and shiverers up my spine..........Anyways funny thing is I bought this amp for $150 about a year ago so my students had an amp to play on in lessons. Well since then I quit giving lessons so because I hate the sound of this amp, I thought why not sell it......put it on Craigslist for $150. First respose was this guy and on top of that he was one of my old students who has been hounding me for more lessons and he played on that amp at his previous lessons and liked how it sounded. He was moving out of his condo and moving into small house and needs the space...........I felt bad......for real, I even called my wife and said I feel pretty guilty taking advantage of him........ I told him it wasnt a fair trade and then I offered him a month of free lessons on top of the trade. He was happy....Now I feel GREAT Smile

Well, as long as he KNEW he was on the short end of the stick, that's a heck of a swap for you Very Happy

The only thing about my Bandit that I don't like is that it doesn't have a speaker out for using it with a larger cab. I'm actually using a Behringer V-amp rack unit for most of my tone shaping (on the hot rodded JCM 800 setting, with only moderate amounts of gain)), but run it thru the dirty channel on the amp, with just a touch of the Bandit's gain added, so it does color the sound a bit differently. I end up with a slightly bass heavy screaming Marshall tone that works FANTASTIC with the low tunings I prefer.....

I played PV amps for the first 6-7 yrs of playing....not to mention PV P.A. sytems in like every band I was in........ My view is Great affordable entry level stuff for guys who want to sound good.....and LOUD. Smile I really think their bass equipment is underrated and the guitar amps a little over rated priced nowadays.

Craigslist has been great for me lately. I sold one of my aquariums for $500 ( I paid $50 and traded a smaller Aquarium for it) It was a nice set up but I had 2 and they are 120 gallons apiece with room for only one. Turned around and bought the Roland Juno G I just got and bought my wife a XM radio set up ( I had $100+ plus stashed as well) Not only did I score a awesome Synth in the deal but she got that for her Birthday plus I pay for subscription......And Im a hero Very Happy

Sunday I am supposed to trade a bunch of paintball gear I have for a Schecter Diamond series guitar......Fair trade worth wise. Thing is, I have a garage full of stuff I never use so wife said "sell that junk or trade it, garages are for cars"......What do woman know?

All I need for my studio is a nice P.C. a few new software programs and a new effects unit fo my guitar..........And I will have completed phase one.........But since it took me so long to complete phase one, I now have to start all over because much of what I aquired in the begining of phase one is now obsolete.......At least thats what I tell her everytime I say " This is the last piece of equipment I will need".......and two months later.........I need something new...............She says there is a difference between need and want..........and I agree........unless its music gear. Very Happy
