| Well, I took the plunge and my Fender 60 BXR is now my 2nd rig for practicing. I was in the used gear store and found a Laney B1 head. It was $500 so I tried it out... wow... I was blown away. 1500 Watts of sheer power. It has both tube and Solid State pre-amps on it and you can mix them or use either one. The Tube side has overdrive on it for some distortion. It has a beautiful EQ. I was just blown away.
So, I picked that up and then got a Peavey 410 TVX cab to go with it. I know it's more Amp than the cab can handle, but I'm all set to add another 410 or a 115 or 212 or something else for low end when I can afford it.
I traded in my Behringer 30 Practice Amp and walked out the store with the Laney, 2 pedals for control (it was modified for a 2nd pedal to switch between the 2 pre-amps on the fly), the Peavey 410 cab, and cables and junk for $805.
I love the sound. What do you guys think? Good Deal?

| Awesome rig man! I bet it sounds great! _________________ Awesome Quote by DRReeves " Yet superficial Western Christians are always getting hung up on what Christianity looks like, or sounds like, or dances like. | Yep, I like it.
I can't wait to let it rip with the rest of my band. I can't crank it at home practicing. |

| | That's at 2 Ohms. I'm thinking of doing the 4 Ohm 410 on one side and 2 8 Ohm 15's or 12's on the other side. That would be 4 Ohms on each side. That would be 750 Watts to each side, but still have a lot of head room. |

| Sweet rig, bro. I'm jealous! OK, not really. I don't really have a need for a monster rig like that with me not playing with anyone now. _________________

| | lol.. Alldat... I don't have a need for this either. Our band hasn't even completed any songs yet, so we won't be playing live for a while. But, this head was only $150 more than a bunch of 300 or 400 watt heads I was looking at and really didn't like the sound of them. A few smaller ampegs, a Peavey Nitrobass, and some GK Backline stuff. I figured for $500, I can't go wrong with something this powerfull and that has this much configurability. |

But, you are a lot further along with "needing" this than me. At least you are in a band. _________________

| Cool - I've always heard that Laney stuff is good stuff.
Nice. My Eden 550 does 750 watts @ 2Ohms. That's a lot of bass. congrats! _________________ _Wes FretlessBassist SL on CD Baby
