Ive been on the look out for another amp. I like my Marshall but would really like to move onto a tube amp. My Marshall is an MG100 head (solid state).

For $899 I get 100watts of all tube goodness. From all the soundclips/video clips from around the net I would say this is much like a Mesa Triple Rectifier but at a more affordable price. Me likey very very much!

I have a Carvin Ultra V that is one of the BEST guitars I have ever played. It blows my Gibsons out of the water. I was also mucho impressed with the tuning keys I bought from Carvin awhile back. Best tuning keys Ive ever used.

I know it is mail order but so far so good from Carvin.

Looks cool! I hope it sounds like you want/need it to.

For me, I don't play out enough to need a larger amp. Since I played bass for years, I got used to using an amp for a personal stage monitor and running my main sound through the PA. As a guitarist, I am a very "plug & play" kind of guy, and I use very little outboard effects. I did a gig on New Year's Eve, and the church we were in would seat about 200 people (we didn't have that many in attendance!). I have a Hartke 60 watt combo amp (solid state, not tube) that powered the whole room just fine.

So, if you feel like you need more, then go for it. For me, I'll stick with my combo amp until I need something larger. No more gigs than I do a year, I probably will be using the combo amp.

I would love to try one of those out. I play through a Legacy half stack at church and it sounds good. I hear this amp is like the poor mans Mesa Roadking. The thing I like about this head is it will also run midi so you can change programs on your rack effects.

Yep that is my assement as well. I really dig that Mesa sound but I also love the Marshall sound as well. Overall though.....I find myself really wanting the Mesa sound so this is an affordable way for me to go.

The Legacy sounds incredible but it isnt quite what I want although I could probably run a distortion pedal with it and find that level that I really want.

Alldat, I dont play out anymore but I really want this head and I really want to go to all tube sound. Who knows....one day I just might have to blow the roof off of some place so this would come in handy LOL
