I love my Line 6 POD that I use in the studio. It has great guitar amp sound that are easy to use. I can dial in a killer sound with little or no effort, and I don't have to mike amps and have to worry about disturbing the neighbors. I have wanted to add a Bass POD to my studio arsenal. I know--you can edit the POD and run a bass through it, but the Bass POD gives you amp modelling specifically for the bass. I've bid on several of the original Bass PODs (the ones that are discontinued now) on Ebay, but they just go for more than I want to spend on used gear. But, the other day, I went to my local guitar center, and they have the Bass Floor POD on sale. They have several 'open box' units for $137. The are still under manufacturer's warranty. I think I would like to have one since it is SO affordable--especially after getting paid for the gig I did on New Year's Eve. Is $137 for a Bass Floor POD a good price? _________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass

I was hoping you'd see this and ring in. I almost bought one the other day, but just didn't have time to wait for the sales clerk to find the power supply and owner's manual. But, I'm going to get it today. _________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass

I should have known. I just needed to get out of Guitar Center on Monday due to time constraints. Not really having the time to allow a sales clerk to find the owner's manual really hurt me. When I went back today, they were gone. So, back to Ebay. _________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass

It does, but I am watching a couple of auctions on Ebay and have bid on one. I am prepared to step up the bidding in order to win. I really want one of these for the studio and think it will help me get a better bass tone in the future. _________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass

I picked up a used Roland V-Bass and although it isn't the same thing, it is great and allows me to get whatever tone I am looking for. It's almost too much for me as I only know about 5% of what it does or how to use it, but I'm learning alot and have dialed in some killer tones.

I've thought about those, too. But, with me already having the guitar POD, I am familiar with the unit, how to operate it, and how easy it is to record a great sound. So, I am hoping to add a Bass POD to the studio arsenal. _________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass

| I noticed the floor POD'S go for $199 new. Something you may want to look at is the Behringer. Here is a link to it on Musicians Friend. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-Bass-VAMP-Modeling-Preamp?sku=480692 They are only $99. My friend has a v-amp for his guitar and it sounds just as good or even better than the POD. _________________ Awesome Quote by DRReeves " Yet superficial Western Christians are always getting hung up on what Christianity looks like, or sounds like, or dances like. | I might just do that. I've not heard anyone recommend those, and never knew that they have the V-Amp for bass. I like the fact that it has a lot of presets that you can just dial in a sound you like and go. No amp miking at all. Thanks, Woe! I have already bid on a Bass POD on Ebay, though, and am the high bidder right now. If I get outbid again, then I'll try the V-Amp. _________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass |

Not in detail. I like the ease of using this machine. Dialing in a cool amp sound is quick and easy. That's great for a lazy guy who just wants to plug & play. I haven't messed around much with the effects or in finding cabinet sounds. I liked the sound of the "amp" (sans cabinet modeling) going straight to the board. I needed to redo a bass track on the new CD, and I redid it with the V-Amp. Now, I want to redo the whole thing, but I won't. Needless to say, Alldat like! _________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass
