PostSubject: Ibanez........there is no substtitute   Fri Sep 18, 2009 2:16 pm

As you can tell by my name....I am an Ibanez-head. Just thought I'd start this thread so everyone can talk about or show off their Ibanez. Of course I decided to start this while at work and can't post any pics yet but I will later if the thread gets going.

I have a 1991 Universe UV7PWH, 1999 Universe UV777BK, RG550 DSY 20th Reissue, 2005 RGA121 and an old RG760.

I love em! Nothing better imho.

Cool man...
Ibanez make some great axes mate.
I used to have an RG550, and it was sweet
It goes without saying, that some of the greatest guitarists EVER use Ibanez.

I own 3 Ibanez guitars. RG570, RG1820x, and a Reb Beach model.

I have a whole collection of Ibanez guitars, 9 in all. (I just had to count them by hand.)

I only have one Ibanez--it's my acoustic guitar that I've had for 9 years.

As a lefty, it's darn near impossible to find a nice guitar to try out.

Thankfully, I found a store that had a lefty ART100. I finally got to try out an Ibanez. I think it was love.

I've never owned a top end Ibanez, though I have owned a lower level EX model in the mid 90's. Was NOT one of the nice, Wizard type necks, though. It actually FELT bigger than the neck on my Explorer. the biggest knock I've got for 'em is the fact that 95% of 'em are bolt on, 25.5 inch scale, somethign I simply don't like. I've never found an Ibanez that I've loved.

I'm not a lead player in the slightest, so it's not like the bolt on neck joint would be an access issue for me anyway, even if it was something that DIDN'T have the AANJ.......there's just a "feel" thing about a set neck or neck-thru that I prefer. my favorite guitar to pick up is a beat to heck and back 88 Explorer, set neck, 24.75 inch scale, that someone threw am Ibanez licensed floyd on. my 2nd favorite is my 94 Jackson Soloist (Jap import, but neckthru), and after that, the only Bolt on I've ever truly loved, my washburn WG587 7 string.

Frankly, if the Jackson was 24.75 inch, with the same wide, flat frets the explorer has instead of the extra jumbo it has, I'd go for it frst every single time, because of the neck profile...and if I ever have the money, Ill end up finding SOMEWHERE that will build me a neck thru explorer, 24.75 with those wide, low frets, and that Jackson neck profile...something about the way that Gibby hangs just calls to me.

I am selling off my RG3120 (already sold off my rga321f) and using the cash to get myself another Jackson USA-made soloist. I am sold on the SL2H/SL1 models! I'll probably never buy another brand/model (unless I custom build my own). The Ibanez necks just don't feel right in my hands. I'll say this, though, the lo-pro edge trem on the 3120 is amazing and equally as good as any real floyd rose!

I had an Ibanez RG350NP in 2000. I really like it but ended up trading it in on a Marshall head that I needed more than the guitar. I still wish I had never let that Ibanez go. I liked the bridge. It was more like the traditional Floyds. I don't like the newer lo-z bridges. Very uncomfortable but the wizard necks are to die for.

Used to have an RG120. It wasn't as nice as some of the more expensive models, but for the price it was awesome, and it was definitely a step up from what I was playing. Loved the neck. Would still have it if it wasn't for the fire. Playing on a Jackson KE3 Kelly, which I LOVE... but when I walk into the guitar shops, sit down, and pick up a guitar... It's always those Ibanez's that get me. I absolutely love those necks. The neck on my Kelly is pretty awesome too, and sometimes there isn't anything else I want to play on, but man... I miss the feel of Ibby's. Would love to get a prestige model someday, when $$$ isn't AS big an issue. But yeah. Love Ibanez

I have an Ibanez RG1571 Prestige series. Like it in everyway, although I prefer the feel of my USA Jackson Rhodes for fast picking. Just what I'm used to I suppose.
