PostSubject: I got an Iceman!   Tue Aug 28, 2007 8:39 am

The only reason I post this is because nobody at my house gets it. Its an Ibanez Iceman! C'mon now, an ICEMAN!

I bought it from my friend in Colorado, he gave me a great price on it. I'm all nervous and excited and then my wife kills me by saying, "Oh, that's a pretty guitar."

PRETTY? I was thinking "cool" or "excellent" or even "brutal" . . . but pretty? Go ahead kick me in the groin once more to make it even.

Anyway, this was the only spot I could think to share that. I dig it and even if I still suck at playing, I knew the CMR would at least celebrate and not emascualte me by calling it pretty.

"The Pit".. LOL! I love it... Wwat was that, a gig in hell?

The yellow ristband puts this pick over the top and makes it an instantly classic Skyliner pic! How come we have not seen the silver hat since its debut?

I owned an Iceman for the better part of the 80's. I used it for years when I played in the 80's glam band's Prostitute and Gypsy Fetish. That guitar was like part of me. It was the second best guitar I have ever owned (the best being my custom Jackson). It got stolen from me by a guy who offered to let me use his garage to repaint it. It had been completely redone I pulled everything except one EMG humbucker and the plug (I even ditched the volume pots) and it had been repainted.

Thanks . . . of course I imagine it makes me sound better. Thought about it for some time and finally made the plunge. The action is so smooth, smoother than my Kramer. Thanks for the manly replies and pics (OCI you are rockin)

Ibanez is the smoothest! Well, next to Jackson!
Seriously it's tough to beat a quality Ibanez.

Absolutely...

And the neck-throughs are the best way to go. My first Iceman was a bolt on, with a big heel, but the newer model is a nice and smooth neck-through...it has perfect balance sitting or standing and the bridge and action is incredible. Sometimes I wish the frets were a little wider apart, but I know they have to average finger size the best they can, so..

You should take some pics... Smile
Here's the 'Midnight Thunder':

Stuff I've done to it: mirrored truss cover, Seymour Duncan Phat Cat in neck position, Duncan Dimebucker in bridge position, new knobs.. the neck is 'Condition Blue' and the bridge is 'Condition Black', (has to do with some lyrics and stuff I have) and the tones are both white versions of the same pearly texture.

I wanna do a little more to it at some point, but right now I'm happy how it is...

Thank you....wahahaha.. tongue

The Pit is an exceedingly unique-named place where we do a fair amount of shows here.. it has a cage, which clubs need more of.. but the booking organization kind of sucks because they like putting down 8 bands per night..starting the show at 9. Duh! Sleep

The hat goes only well with a coat, it seems like, and I need a new coat (hard to find..) so it hasn't been making any appearances...

That is spot on, gov'nuh! Thanks for the pic, looks totally stinkin awesome! (yup my 80's are showing)

You know, I would have liked it regardless of what anyone else thinks, but it helps bury that buyers regret to hear others speak highly of it. Maybe I'm not so dumb after all.
