| WHat kind of pickups do you use? Ever tried DragonFire active pups? I just installed these and they sound pretty good. I slapped them int an old Epi SG I got off CL for $15. Pretty sweet, actually. I wrote a quick review at my lil guitar site: http://guitar-nut.tripod.com |

| Most of my Ibanez guitars have stock pickups, but on a couple of them I've replaced them with DiMarzios. |

Which dimarzios do you like the best and why? |

| On my first Ibanez I replaced the bridge pickup with a Super Distortion many years ago. More recently, last year I souped up another one with a PAF Pro, True Velvet, and Steve's Special. They sound absolutely phenominal. Every note can be heard sparklingly clear, even with full metal distortion. Eventually I'd like to continue my customizing work on more of my guitars. |

| I've always trusted the ole Dimarzio Superdistortion. It has been a fav of mine for many years. Most of my guitars have their stock pups on them. I did replace the P90 on my Les Paul Special Jr. with a Dimarzio superdistortion P90 and that really sounds great! I might one day try the Steve Vai Evolutions with my Douglas but right now the stock pups on that one are pretty good. |

| I have EMG's and Demarzio in my basses. I do like the Warwick pups too - but would really like to get some Bartolini's in something again. . . nice dark tone. |

Do you happen to have one of the new Prestige RG's? Some of them use those very same pickups. |

| I've got an explorer with Dimarzio X2N's in it, and my Jackson has a Duncan (probably a JB, not sure because I got the guitar at a pawnshop) in the bridge. WHile I like the overall tone of the Jackson, it doesn't have enough edge and saturation on it. I've played that Gibson with the Dimarzios long enough that the Jackson just feels like it lacks a bit of extra "oomph"..... _________________ Obama is no more the Anti-Christ than George Bush is Sauron, sending his armies into Iraq searching for the One Ring.....
