| Thanks Wes! I got it from Rondomusic.com For the price, this guitar is well worth taking a chance on! It had a stellar review over at harmony-central. Im just happy my wife took the initiative and went and bought it without me knowing! I highly recommend Rondo music and their Douglas line of guitars. They also sell Agile and SX. Alldatt bought an SX from them and he was well pleased. I believe one of the guitar players from Ultimatum speaks highly of the Agile Les Pauls as well. |

Wouldn't take anything for my SX! OK, the tuning heads were crap, but an inexpensive set of Grovers took care of that for me. I actually prefer it to my Epiphone._________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass |

Not only Ultimatum, but the guys from Tykkus. Trog uses an Agile as well._________________ “If you make less than $250,000 your taxes will not go up. | Didn't know they had anything that nice under the Douglas umbrella. Thats a REALLY nice looking guitar.... I REALLY wish I had some free cash to play with, as they've recently added a line of 7 string explorer style guitars to their Agile line...... Also in black, white, and trans green........ _________________ Obama is no more the Anti-Christ than George Bush is Sauron, sending his armies into Iraq searching for the One Ring.....

Yes! Tykkus and Trog both use Agile.
That explorer model looks really nice too. Im not to big on the headstock though. It has a Gibson firebird feel to it and it throws it off for me. |

| I really think it is a steal. Im going to take it in this weekend and get it set up by a pro. It doesnt stay in tune like it should but I have a Carvin that I bought used that was the same way and once I got it set up it was fine. This guitar has gotten me wanting to go back and start writing some metal. |

| Hey zombie.....I'm SERIOUSLY looking at grabbing one of their Rhoads V knockoffs (the one right next to YOUR guitar on the page.....), looks to be either set neck or neckthru (description doesn't say) once the taxes come back...any "issues" come up with your axe like hardware or stuff? _________________ Obama is no more the Anti-Christ than George Bush is Sauron, sending his armies into Iraq searching for the One Ring.....

| That V looks nice Exo. I have actually been looking at that one as well LOL! I love V's. My Carvin is an Ultra V. I would hazard a guess and say that Douglas is a set neck which is very nice. My Les Pauls are set necks and I love them. Set Neck or Neck Through I believe you cant go wrong. The only thing I see in the description that makes me wonder are the tuning machines. You will probably want to replace them. They just describe them as "die cast". If you do buy this guitar go to Carvin.com and order a set of tuning machines from them. I bought a set from them a year ago and they rock! 18:1 gear ratio and stay in tune wonderfully! They cost about $30 which is also good bang for the buck!! I have no issues so far with my Douglas. Im picking it up from Guitar Center this weekend. If I run into any problems I will let you know bro. |

| Yeah, I prefer set neck (and I've never owned neck thru), there's just something about the feel of a bolty that seems...flimsy....to me, even though I KNOw it's not, and is a tried and true method of construction. Got a mid 80's gibby explorer that's my baby because of it....but a prior owner installed an Ibanez branded floyd, and one of the studs is off just a fraction of a hair, so it doesn't intonate totally correct...it's a rhythm BEAST, but the intonation issues prevent any real lead playing on the higher strings, past the 12th fret. DESPITE this pretty major flaw, because of the way it balances and the set neck, I keep going back to it (I'm a rhythm player at heart, anyway...lol) with the set neck, and the larger offset V body on this douglas model I'm looking at, it SHOULD balance and feel similarly........ _________________ Obama is no more the Anti-Christ than George Bush is Sauron, sending his armies into Iraq searching for the One Ring.....

| My SX guitar and my Tobias 6 string bass are both neck-thrus. I really love how solid these necks feel when you do make the occassional trip up to the higher frets. _________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass |

| Yeah a neck through is as solid as it gets IMO. The sustain you get from this type of construction is brilliant. Set necks are sustain animals too and truthfully I dont think there is that much of a difference tonally. That's a bummer about the floyd stud install. My brother has an Ibanez Destroyer (circa 1983) and he had a Kahler trem system installed (cuz they were the rage at that time). The pro who installed it did the same thing kind of. The bridge doesnt quite line up correctly with the neck so the high E string tends to slip off the neck while you bend! A few years ago he finally found a guy locally who is a real pro and he made a minor adjustment and it is much better now......not corrected but at least much more playable! I too think that the Douglas would suit you well since you are already an Explorer player. Rock on!! |

| My band's former bassist got an SX and we were both very disappointed in it. I've considered trying another of Rondo's products, but I am wary. The tuning pegs of the bass broke within a month of getting it. And the neck visibly bowed under the strain of the tuned strings. It was impossible to lower the action to a decently playable level past the 7th fret or so. However, we both liked the sound of it quite well. |

| It plays very very well. The new setup has nice low action but the guy tuned it to standard. I have been tuning a half step down for quite sometime now. I need to learn how to set up a floyd bridge so next time I change strings I might try it myself. I can live with standard though. |
