| Are there conterfeit big name brand guitars out there like say the Fender Stratocaster? And if such a thing exists, are they still decent guitars?
I suppose for that matter, what constitutes a good guitar.
I asked someone it you could take cheap guitar, upgrade the hardware on in, would it be worth it, and I was told that you can improve any guitar, but you cannot turn a VW bug into a Lamborgini no matter what you do. |

| Cheap guitars are almost always made with cheap electronics and improvements can be made by changing them out. That can also be said about some expensive guitars as well. The cheap guitars coming out of Asia now are probably better then ever but the wood used is were the money is saved. Some Japan guitars are even better then there American counter parts in a lot of ways. Alot of things effect the tone of guitar, electronics, wood and hardware. |

| As of late I have been buying Canadian made guitars from the Godin factory. They are made with Canadian hard woods. There used to our climate changes from heat to cold so they are not as finnicky. The electrics are now assembled in the States to give Americans a better price on them. They even come with good hardware and electronics. EMG and Semor Duncan pickups. |
