| I'm kinda on the fence. It's good, but something just isn't grabbing me like I'd hoped or anticipated. I'll still pick it up, though. _________________ | Quote: | | Whatever dude. You listen to Machine Head and Opeth. You don't know crap about metal. Get lost. |

| I felt that way at first about parts of it, but songs like "august" and "brother" kept pulling me back in and now I love the album. |

| I finally figured out what I was hearing and mentioned in the old thread as "core" music.....it's the fact that Peter Wichers, of Soilwork does almost all of the guitars. I'm hearing a LOT of "nu-Soilwork" ij the guitar stuff. That's what was throwing me. Great material, though. _________________ Obama is no more the Anti-Christ than George Bush is Sauron, sending his armies into Iraq searching for the One Ring.....

| I heard this on the radio the other night. Killer stuff IMO. Simpler and more direct than Nevermore, but still very high quality. Warrell Dane showing he has a real instinct for melody once again. |

| Excellent album! And I agree, "Brother" and "Patterns" are early favorites! What a singer this is! What an utter genius! _________________ |

| After about a month, this is my favorite album of the first half of the year. _________________ I don't have time for all if it, so I pick my battles. | Warrel brought out all his gothic influences! This is good. I will be getting this one for sure. _________________ "It is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not."

| I love his voice so that is cool and the groove on this is really good. I usually like a death or thrash album best so this is different for it to be my favorite. _________________ I don't have time for all if it, so I pick my battles. | This is very good. I'm kind of giggling - cause I'm listening to it right now & saw the thread. . . About 4 songs in - and I like it. Very good. More melodic & straight ahead metal. I also hear the gothic influences....but over all - very good. I think it's a bit more accessible than Nevermore. I like Nevermore quite a bit - but I think his voice is a great metal voice. |

| It's still not the music, but the lyrics that make ths one stand out for me. _________________ Obama is no more the Anti-Christ than George Bush is Sauron, sending his armies into Iraq searching for the One Ring.....

| Yeah, I love the vocals, and the vocal lines - and most of the lyrics. But the music is very so-so to me. _________________ |

| Decent lyrics... never dug his voice.... or all that much him in general.... music has some potential, but the modern kind of 'Century Media' type slickness in the production really turns me off a lot of stuff. I mean, it can be slick, but there's just something about some of the newer albums that sounds this certain way I don't like. _________________ Dark motions, black eyes, and mournful lust, the wings of solitude ...I'm the hateful raven

| That's EXACTLY what it's got going on....this sort of "Gothenberg via Massachusetts" thing tossed in a blender with Nevermore lite....with a pop sheen of production....not that this is necessarily a BAD thing, as there are a ton of bands of that ilk that I enjoy... but Warrel shows more range and emotion on this disc than I can remember hearing in a LONG time....there's this sadness and poignancy to a LOT of the lyrics and vocals that just makes you want to go up to the guy and be like ".....uh......dude.....do you need a friend?" He's so emotionally invested in the lyrics that this is just a KILLER vocal performance..... _________________ Obama is no more the Anti-Christ than George Bush is Sauron, sending his armies into Iraq searching for the One Ring.....
