...that more people here have not made mention of the Manowar EP Thunder In The Sky. I like it, personally, but I'm a Manowar fan. The dozen or so versions of the song "Father" get a bit, ummm, tiresome, since they are recorded in so many different languages, but the song is good, as are the rest. The style reminds me of Louder Than Hell or maybe Triumph of Steel more than anything, but the songwriting is classic Manowar! Can't wait for the new full-length!

I've said this before, but if I get any Manowar, it will be Fighting the World.

I've said this before but I hate Manowar.

IMO they epitomize everything that's wrong with metal. I think this band is where Spinal Tap got their inspiration.

Cant get past the image enough to really enjoy them although I do possess a few on vinyl. Btw you know how some fans are so rabid that they take on the image of the bands they follow ie Marilyn Manson, ICP, Slipknot, Pearl Jam? Well Im really glad that hordes of Manowar fans dont take to the streets emulating the band.

I think you guys are a little behind on how Manowar has looked for the past 20 years or so. They haven't used the "Conan" attire in quite a while.

As far as the music goes, I love it. Eric Adams is one of the greatest metal vocalists. I think my favorite album from them is still "Kings Of Metal".

Also if you like Orson Welles' narrations, you should pick up Manowar's first album "Battle Hymns" as well. The song "Dark Avenger" from that album is better than "Defender" from "Fighting The World" (which Welles also narrated).

Is that EP new?

Their first album is brilliant. One of the best metal albums of all-time. Every song is good. The title track is a classic.

I could make a long list of all the bands that I think epitomize everything that is wrong with metal, but MANOWAR wouldn't be on it.

Yeah, came out in August or September I believe. I like it, but like I said, 12 versions of one song sung in 12 different languages does get a bit old. (Thank goodness for the old skip button! At least they put them at the end)

I think I did hear some of that and it sounded pretty good.

Oddly, though I usually like this brand of power metal, I could never get into Manowar. I lost interest very quickly when listening.

Made a thread for it at the HoM bard. I love the new EP. The Norwegian version of "Father" was addictive! Laughing

Manowar is a great band IMO. Just not very high on the 'buy' list.
