| Not a big shock on either count. I always figured STP would get back together at some point, and far prefer them to Velvet Revolver anyway. Also, I wondered how long Slash and Co. would put up with yet another tempermental, unpredictable, unreliable lead singer. I'm kind of surprised it lasted this long. What I would NOT look for out of this, though people will start speculating, is that Slash and Axl have mended fences. I don't think you will EVER see Slash on stage in GnR again. | Never could get into this band. I really tried and I like a couple of their songs but overall ... not my thing either. Alldat, why would you care about Scott leaving? I thought you didn't listen to any secular? _________________ "It is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not."

First of all, I don't really care. I heard about it on the radio on the tail end of a news report. Yesterday, there were tons of fake news articles since it was April Fool's Day. This could easily have been one to create controversy and possibly stir up coverage for the band. Second, with me not listening or following this band, I would not know the truth. I figured that someone here would know. Thirdly, I don't listen to secular. You should well know that. But, just because I don't listen doesn't mean I don't hear things. I even take part in some discussions on some of the artists/topics in this room. Just because I have taken a different musical path does not mean that I don't still have opinions, or that I cannot discuss them here.. I don't vote for liberal democrats, either, but I still know a thing or two about them._________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass |

| I basically wanted VR to do Appetite pt. 2 and when I bought the first VR album it was just SOOOO tame compared to Appetite that it did nothing for me. Slash's solo album also didn't give me my Appetite fix. My only hope is that GNR will reunite and I'll get to see them play those Appetite songs live during a reunion tour. No chance of them recording another album like that again. |

| Meh....a good portion of the "magic" of that first album was Adler's drumming and Izzy's riffs fused with Slash's melodic sensibilities, and Duff's punk ethos. and, unfortunatley, without the first 2 guys (and copiuos amounts of chemical inhibiton loosening), the last 2 won't be able to come CLOSE to replicating that magic. I actually think they went with Wieland as the VR singer in part becase he still has that recklessness to him, and were hoping for a bit of a spark........... _________________ Obama is no more the Anti-Christ than George Bush is Sauron, sending his armies into Iraq searching for the One Ring.....

| tis true.... http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1584615/20080402/velvet_revolver.jhtml btw, I am not a big fan either, but I saw them live once and they ended their set with Slither and blew everyone away... very intense! They didnt even say goodnight, they just stopped dead, put their instruments down and walked of stage leaving everyone stunned. They definitely believe in the "leave them wanting more" philosophy. It worked |

| Sorry alldat, didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. Just didn't make sense if you "don't care" and "don't listen to them" to bother bringing it up. I thought maybe your perspective had changed or that maybe there was some other non-musical reason you were wondering about this. _________________ "It is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not."
